章節 19: (Chapter 16) So it's today...?
[Location] {Shima no Ryuu}
[Time] {6:30 PM}
Ryu woke up and looked around, The first thing he noticed was that he wasn't on a mountain or anywhere near his home, he was on the beach but not the one next to their family's estate
He groaned as he rubbed his eyes, he sat up and stretched a bit "I wonder why Ji-chan took me all the way here" he thought as he dusted himself off
He took a look around and saw his cutlass a few meters away from his position and soon went and fastened it to his side, Even though he was taken good care of the blade it doesn't mean that Kaido's attacks last night were any less weaker the blade was chipped in a few places and needed repairs soon
He sighed and looked around once more to see any indications of where he is, he soon spotted a few long-beaked seagulls near the formation of stones
Those are usually found on the east side of the island "So I'm all the way on the other side of where home"
He just scratched his head and decided to start making his way back home, he started with a light jog then turned into a full-on sprint as he zoomed across the road
[Time] {7:30 PM}
He didn't notice how big the island was as he was only halfway from where his home was he could see Bukeyashiki from on top of the hill he was on
He panted and decided to take a short break and went to the nearest river that came down from the mountain and flowed into the capital and to the ocean
As he filled his canteen he heard rustling coming from inside one of the bushes and drew his blade
"I feel a strong presence coming from those bushes" he thought as he got cautiously got near the shrubs, and struck down
"Nothing" he thought, before a small brown rabbit ran from inside the shrubs he face palmed at his stupidity as he unsheathed his blade
But right as he did so did he hear sounds of something cutting through the air and moved his head to the side right as the arrow flew past
Sweat laced his brow as he jumped back hearing the sounds of more arrows flying towards him
They soon struck the tree bark as 5 men wearing devil masks came from atop the tree foliage
"Who are these guys" he thought, the men were wearing black ninja masks and we're wearing black kimono's each
The man in the middle who was in fact the only one who had a sword drew his blade and rushed towards him
He sheathed his own blade and met him in the middle as their blades met, the sounds of metal clashing could be heard as they dodged and swung at each other while the other men tried to shoot arrows at Ryu
"They're trying to take my life so I'm not going to hold back" Then he took in a large breath of air before rushing forwards
"Fire breathing Seventh form: Blaze release!" he soon is enveloped in flames and strikes the man on the side with his blade as the flames discharge and envelope the man
'Shit' the man mutters as he rolls on the ground, his chainmail armour beneath taking the brunt of the attack and allowing him not to get cut
Ryu looks down at his chipped blade as he realizes it became blunt after the first couple of clashes
He sighs as he dodges another arrow that would have pierced his head, he starts running towards his home hopefully losing his pursuers on the way
15 minutes go by since he started running full speed towards his home, and he could still sense them behind him
He knew they could have caught him if they had wished to do so, but didn't for some reason
That's when he realised they might be trying to follow him back to his home, so not wanting to put his family in danger he decided to confront them head on
He soon stopped in a clearing as he faced the spot they were hiding in he called out to them
'I know your there so just come on out' but unexpectedly the only one that came out was the swordsman
But what happened next shocked him, as the man took a stance reminiscent of his own
'Wind breathing first form: Dasuto senpū kattā!" (Dust whirlwind cutter) As he came down diagonally
Ryu unsheathed his blade as he attempted to block the attack, but as the blade collided with his own it shattered
"Shit I need to get out of here" he thought as he took a handful of sand the man was still hovering above him about to cut him in two before throwing it straight in his eye
He soon dashed towards the forest at full speed, he didn't realise the man behind him dusting himself off and sheathing his blade and sighing
'The kid is good but he still needs some work' he muttered as his companions jumped out and landed beside him
'Are we following him' asked the first man the swordsman just sighed before shaking his head, as he signalled them to follow him

[Time] {8:30 PM}
Ryu ran until he could see his home he felt something was wrong as he ran down the dirt road
He soon reached the gates and opened them, he walked up the stairs of their porch as his heart raced in dread not knowing if his family was alright
His hands trembled as he reached for the doorknob, he gulped before twisting it and opening the door and what he saw next shocked him
'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!'
Came the shouts from the people inside as he walked in and looked around in wonderment
'Jiji!' Ryu screamed out before hugging the man, he rambled on about how there were men following him and how he almost got killed and as he finished retailing what happened knocks could be heard
Aunt Rika soon stood up and opened the door, Ryu's eyes widened as he took on a fighting stance
'Jiji those are-'
But before he could finish the man took off his mask revealing that it was Lord Kyoku's son Wokiru!
'Happy birthday Ryu-chan' he said as the other men took off their masks, they were a few of the guards he saw when he and his grandfather visited the capital
Soon Daichi walked up to him saying 'Happy birthday Ryu-Chan' as he passed him a box, it was a gift!
Ryu looked at him before smiling and bowing, 'Thank you Daichi-kun' he said before bowing a little bit
Soon the other kids came up and tried to give him their gifts as he sweat dropped
The adults laughed as they saw the predicament the boy was in as kyoku tried to break them off
