Back to the dorm.
.
Kyle met Joshua and told him about Leonhart's meeting with Class Seven.
"Damn …. Our teacher will surely have us compete against Class Seven." Joshua scratched his head.
"I'm curious. Why doesn't your homeroom teacher solve this faction problem?" Kyle asked while lying on his bed.
"Because he knows it will be useless," Joshua stated. "Leonhart and Ferlando have too much pride. The friction will continue to exist even if the Teacher tries to stop us."
Having the Class Two's homeroom teacher stop the factions and unite them wouldn't bring true peace, but rather arm a ticking bomb that might explode at anytime. Kyle wondered whether the homeroom teacher was secretly helping Joshua to unite his class. After all, it was only Joshua who dared to oppose them.
"If the challenge is happening, you will also have to fight," Kyle added.
"I know." Joshua looked worried. Kyle knew why, comparing both Joshua and Leonhart, Joshua was the weakest. Knowing that those in Class Seven were said to be strong, he was worried that if he lost, the price of losing would be the defeat of his faction. The reason why he got away when creating his own faction was that he wasn't a threat to either faction. If he were to be defeated in the challenge, later on, his faction would have even less influence and become a joke. It was basically the same as defeat.
"Want me to help you?" Kyle offered, which made Joshua look at him in confusion.
"What?"
"You need to win the challenge, right? Want me to help you to get stronger?"
"What? No ... why? I mean, we are from different classes," Joshua exclaimed in frustration.
"Yes, that's true." Kyle nodded and then grinned. "But that doesn't matter. Helping you won't put my class at a disadvantage."
"Heh, are you really that confident? What if I become strong enough to unite the class?" Joshua challenged.
"When will you do that though? The moment you unite your class, my class has already solidified and united for a long time."
"Haaa …. I hate your words, but I can't help but agree." Joshua sighed.
"Besides, we are friends," Kyle added with a smile.
Joshua smiled as well, feeling touched by Kyle's words. However, he soon focused on the problem. "How are you going to help me?"
"First, you need to ask your homeroom teacher about when the challenge will happen. Make it as late as possible to have time to train," told Kyle while getting up and raising his finger.
.
...….
.
The next day, Class Three's Class.
.
"I see, so Class Two will make a formal challenge," Eric mused while holding his chin. He then looked at Kyle. "It will be possible to postpone it for a week or two weeks. But why are you offering your help to Joshua?" Kyle had told them about what he had talked about with Joshua last night.
"I know it sounds ridiculous. We are supposed to help Class Seven, and yet why am I helping Joshua from Class Two? It is because we need the third faction in Class Two to exist."
"Why?" Eric inquired.
"Because they will keep each other at bay. Currently, Joshua's faction is the weakest, but if he wins the challenge, the other two will be more alert about him. This will create a bigger stake for them. It won't be just two factions that fight each other but three factions fighting each other."
"You sound cruel," Tucker said. "Isn't Joshua your friend?"
"He is. As I said before, Class Two will unite in the future, and I intend to have Joshua lead it," Kyle explained. "This is not without a reason. Because of their influence and power, Leonhart or Ferlando will have an easier time uniting the class, but that is not the case with Joshua. It will take him a lot of time to unite Class Two."
"You want Class Two to be busy till near the Class Competition, right?" Wanda hit the bullseye.
"Exactly." Kyle made a finger gun gesture.
"Interesting, but what if Joshua is able to unite the class faster than expected, or what if they realized this plan of yours?" Eric questioned.
"In the end, it is all about the probability," Kyle explained. "But it is impossible for Joshua to unite the class faster unless he makes a breakthrough or something. And even if Leonhart, Ferlando, or others realize this, they can't really do anything about it because uniting quicker means they have to humiliate themselves and cast away their pride."
"… Very well, can you keep us updated on Joshua's progress?" Eric asked again.
"Leave it to me."
"Next, regarding Class Seven. We have successfully made contact with them, and now it is up to them whether to accept it or not. According to our observation, and while we don't know about the rest, Vyn Ervin and Mina are noted to be a few of the strongest in Class Seven. Even Leonhart stated that as well. And ... they are possibly stronger than me," Eric grimaced at the last words. After all, it was like he admitted himself that he was truly on the weaker side.
"But we estimated their strength only through observation, right? We still don't know whether it is true or not," said someone who still doubted it.
"Of course, that is why we need to be there during the challenge. However, if they accept our help, then we can get a better view of their capabilities."
The meeting was over, and after that, Kyle went toward Ninia and asked, "Ninia, will you help me with something?"
"Hm?"
