The next day. Klara woke up very early in the morning, took a bath and dressed up.
Arriving in front of Luke's house, she didn't bother knocking knowing he wasn't going to be around. She raised the mat up and took the key not before glancing right and left to ensure no one was watching her movement. She didn't want anyone finding where Luke hid his key for security reasons.
She unlocked the door with the key, Entering, she got straight to work by sweeping the floor, dusting the furniture and cleaning the wardrobe making sure there was no dust anywhere both in the living room and bedrooms.
After she was done with the work and making sure everything was neat . She Locked the door of the apartment and called Luke;
" Mr Luke i'm done with the work, am about to leave" Klara said
"Oh, okay I will be around tomorrow so we can talk. I am currently busy" Luke said hurriedly, Klara could sense the urgines in his tone so she hung up the call after saying her goodbye.
Klara then kept the key where she had found it and left. Feeling hungry, She trekked to a nearby restaurant. She stood at the front of the register and ordered what she wanted.
After she was done ordering her food, she noticed a table and chair by the window and decided to sit there while waiting for her order. Sitting there as the cool breeze brushed her face she went into thought; mainly about how she was going to take care of the baby in her stomach and wondering whether running away was the right decision
" Your order is here" The waiter said, disrupting her thought.
"Oh, thank you," Klara said, thanking her for the food that was being served. After thanking the waiter without wasting time she went down on her meal without a second thought.
When she finished eating she was shocked at how hungrily she had eaten, "might be the pregnancy hormones" Klara thought in her head.
She left the restaurant and walked to the hotel she was staying; she didn't feel like taking a taxi and decided to trek.
Once she reached the hotel she took another bath and slept off because she was exhausted from the activities she did today.
The next day Klara woke up very early, still feeling tired, But she couldn't skip work. After taking her bath and getting dressed she left the hotel and went to Mr Luke house.
Knocking on the door, she knew he was around.
"Who is there?" Mr Luke asked, hearing the knock.
"It's me Klara" she replied.
"Oh, come in," Mr Luke said, opening the door, "Are you alright?" He asked, noticing how pale she was.
"I'm alright, just stressed," Klara said, trying to assure him.
Feeling concerned "you can take the day off if you are not feeling well" Luke said.
"No sir, Don't worry I will do my work" Klara said, Not liking the idea of taking a day off. It made her feel guilty.
Seeing her insist, he relented , "okay, but if you feel unwell, you can stop" Luke said still worried, seeing her this way made him feel pity, possibly because he didn't have children so he felt the need to be like a father figure to her.
Seeing she had convinced him, Klara began her work by sweeping the floors of the rooms and bedroom, Then dusting the chairs and wardrobe. When she was done with the basic work she went straight to mopping, she mopped the living room and master bedroom.
"Ah, almost done. Just the guest room left "" Baby wait a little longer we will rest soon." Klara said happy that she could rest after this.
She then began mopping the visitors room, just as she finished with her work, she was about to tell Luke that she was done. when she felt dizzy and fainted.
Hearing a loud thud, Luke rushed towards the noise.
"*Your food is ready*" The waitress said, snapping Klara from her flash back.
Flashback ended
"Oh, thank you for the food" Maya said, seeing the food being served.
"Wow, I didn't expect that story" Maya said
"My life in Europe was filled with stories" Klara replied, seeing her friend's surprise about the story she told her.
"What happened when you fainted?" " I hope it didn't affect the children's health?" Maya asked worriedly .
"No, it didn't, let's save the rest for later. when we get home, we will have a girls night I will gist you the rest of the story, for now let's eat" Klara said
