章節 31: The War's aftermath
"Naruto's so popular now, it's weird." Natsuko said to herself, as she sat behind the hokage desk, looking over the reports from the front gate. Signing different pieces of paperwork for the Uchiha and Hyuga. The Uchiha had a small complex near the hokage office as well as the space outside the village. Being as they were the police force, Natsuko found it unfitting that they were on the outside of the village, rather than inside the village and argued such point at the rebuilding plans. The elders and other leaders agreed. She wore her hair in a braided crown, a black cropped top paired with a light blue skirt, biker shorts with chain armor underneath, ninja boots on her feet, with her shurikan holsters on both legs with her kunai pouch on her back. Her hokage cloak sitting on her shoulders while her ninja head band was strapped to her forehead. The sun shown behind her through the windows, when the previous hokage except Minato walked through the door. Natsuko still looking at paperwork.
"What's up?" She asked and Tobirama hummed,
"So you do actually do paperwork, I was wondering." He said Natsuko sticking out her tongue at him.
"Where's Minato?" Hiruzen asked and Natsuko hummed as she looked at one of the papers biting her thumb
"… Dad's with Naruto, since he's become so popular, poor guy can't go to the front gates it's over crowded.." Natsuko said looking at the paper, grabbing another and seeming to compare the two
"You've also become quite popular, Lady Natsuko." Tobirama said and Natsuko groaned,
"Yep. I hate it." She said thumping her head on the desk as Shizune arrived with tonton in her arms,
"Lady hokage, the kazekage's and Raikage's entourage have arrived, shall I have someone escort them?" She asked and Natsuko hummed
"Yes to Ay, but I've finished the paperwork for today, so I'll escort the Kazekage, I've gotta head to the hospital anyway." Natsuko said and Shizune nodded,
"Alright," She said and Natsuko grinned, Tobirama looking at the desk,
"That was fast.." He said and Natsuko hummed
"They were mostly job requests and paperwork, so it was pretty easy." She said before disappearing.
"Hey guys!" Natsuko said as she jumped in front of Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro, her hands behind her head. Gaara wore his regular red tunic, though his gord that was previously on his back was now strapped to his hip,
"Hey your gord shrunk." She said seeming to zero in on the object, and Gaara nodded
"This one's a lot easier to carry. You're escorting?" he asked looking at her, and Natsuko nodded,
"I finished all the paperwork I had to do today as you guys arrived, and I have to go to the hospital anyway, so." She said, Temari had her ash blonde hair in four ponytails as she wore a violet dress, Kankuro standing next to her wearing a black jumpsuit. Natsuko's scar from the war, the only evidence she'd been stabbed, was only noticible when she turned towards them. Sitting right above her bellybutton.
"Oh?" Temari asked as they walked, and Natsuko nodded, as they walked towards the hospital,
"What do you need to go to the hospital for, Naruto?" Gaara asked and Natsuko shook her head, as they made their way through the gate
"I have to give… this to granny." She said, as she looked over the paper, leading them over to Naruto before taking her leave,
"So what are they doing about the arm?" Kankuro asked Naruto waving the right stump of his right arm a moment before humming
"Uhhh…." He started
"They're going to splice his cells and attach Hashirama's old cells to his own to regrow his arm, before reattaching them to his body, attaching it directly to the nervous system. In theory, it should be like he never lost his arm and he'll be able to return to ninja work shortly after." Natsuko said, as she walked back up.
"Which let me tell you… that was the weirdest conversation to have with first hokage." She said rubbing the back of her head. Naruto did the same thing,
"Yeah it was… Though I didn't understand anything that was being talked about." Naruto said and Natsuko hummed
"It's because you're an airhead. Well I've gotta get back to the office… see ya." Natsuko said doing a small salute before disappearing, Gaara and his siblings visiting with Naruto for a few more moments, before taking their leave
