Several days had passed since the Third Kazekage was intercepted and killed by Aizen and his group.
During this time, Iwagakure had repeatedly sent letters to Sunagakure, subtly inquiring about the Kazekage's intentions regarding Tsuchikage's invitation for talks.
Receiving these inquiries, Ebizō and the others responsible for Sunagakure's affairs were confused, not understanding why Iwagakure would ask such questions.
Before the Third Kazekage's departure, Sunagakure had already informed Iwagakure that the Kazekage would be heading there.
'So why was Iwagakure asking again about the Kazekage's intentions? Could it be that the Kazekage hadn't arrived in Iwagakure after several days?'
Pondering this, Ebizō frowned, feeling something was off.
Soon, Ebizō relayed the information that the Kazekage had set off for Iwagakure a few days earlier, but the response from Iwagakure shocked Sunagakure's high command.
Iwagakure's reply was that they had not received the Third Kazekage.
Nearly five days had passed, and the Third Kazekage had not yet arrived in Iwagakure! This news sent shockwaves through Sunagakure's council.
As a Kage, not reaching the allied village in almost five days could only mean one thing.
The Third Kazekage, hailed as the strongest Kazekage in history, had gone missing!
If something had happened along the way, the Third Kazekage was accompanied by four bodyguards who could have sent one ahead to inform Iwagakure.
In such a situation with no clues, the term "missing" best described the Third Kazekage's plight.
The news of the Third Kazekage's disappearance quickly spread among Sunagakure's upper echelons.
Some speculated that Iwagakure might have attacked the Kazekage under the guise of talks.
However, this possibility was soon dismissed because Sunagakure's spies in Iwagakure had no such information, the Third Tsuchikage Onoki remained in Iwagakure, and no battles had occurred there.
Moreover, the Third Kazekage's strength was widely recognized among Sunagakure's ninja, and his nearly invincible control over iron sand made it hard to believe he couldn't escape if attacked.
Everyone was puzzled, unable to understand the cause of the Kazekage's disappearance.
Ebizō, who was in charge, felt immense pressure, struggling to handle the unexpected situation.
During a high-level meeting in Sunagakure, everyone hesitated on how to search for the Third Kazekage, having no clues about his whereabouts.
Even the high command didn't know the exact route the Kazekage and his bodyguards took, a detail only known to those accompanying him.
At this point, Chitoro broke the indecisive atmosphere by proposing his idea.
He stood up abruptly, slamming the table, and shouted, "Everyone, stop!"
His deep voice silenced the room, and he swept his sharp gaze across the attendees.
Seeing that everyone had stopped their futile discussions, Chitoro's eyes flashed with determination, and he spoke.
"I believe our immediate priority is to make the news of the Third Kazekage's disappearance public!"
His suggestion caused an uproar among the attendees, who found it hard to understand his reasoning.
"Does Captain Chitoro think that other villages will help us find the Kazekage if we make this public?"
"If the Kazekage's disappearance is announced, other villages might take advantage of our weakened state. Even in peace, war can break out anytime!"
While everyone criticized Chitoro's idea, Ebizō, known as the brain of Sunagakure, raised an eyebrow and said, "Continue, Chitoro. I want to hear your reasoning."
The other leaders looked at the two in surprise.
Chitoro met Ebizō's gaze calmly and continued, "Even if we try to keep the Kazekage's disappearance secret, how long can we do so?"
He scanned the room sharply. "Do you think there are no spies from other villages in Sunagakure?"
Everyone was taken aback, unable to refute Chitoro's point.
Chitoro continued, "Because the Kazekage is missing, we need to make this public to search openly and widely for him."
"Otherwise, do you plan to search only within the Wind Country?"
Hearing Chitoro's argument, Ebizō nodded in agreement. The other leaders also saw the logic, realizing that an open search could be more effective and revealing if other villages obstructed them.
In the following days, Iwagakure, as an ally, sent a ninja team to Sunagakure. They apologized for the incident occurring due to their meeting invitation and promised to assist in the search for the Third Kazekage.
Then, a bombshell dropped in the ninja world.
The Third Kazekage was missing!
The major ninja villages were shocked, both at the disappearance of a Kage and at Sunagakure's transparency.
A week after this news broke, its true implications began to unfold.
Meanwhile, Aizen and his group had entered the Land of Earth.
