Under the night sky, Las Noches's palace within the deep cliffs stood like a towering giant, bathed in pale moonlight. The vast and silent hall had walls that reflected the ghostly light like mirrors, shadows merging with dim rays from various angles.
Suddenly, the serene hall echoed with steady footsteps, rhythmic as a heartbeat, elegant and composed. As the figure in the hall saw the scene of destruction, a faint smile appeared on their lips.
In front of the figure lay a scene of chaos, rubble scattered everywhere. A massive stone pillar lay broken on the ground, resembling a fallen tree. The tall figure paid no mind to the wreckage but focused on the break in the pillar. Noting the smooth fracture, their gaze shifted to two large pits in the hall floor, showing a flicker of interest.
"Such smooth indentations, caused entirely by pressure?"
As the figure muttered softly, a lean shadow suddenly appeared behind them, kneeling respectfully, almost invisible in the night. The person lifted their pale face, green eyes only showing a hint of emotion when facing the figure, and spoke softly, "Lord Aizen, as you instructed, I have tested and provoked the child's strength."
Hearing this, Aizen, standing in the moonlight, smiled slightly and replied softly, "This is why I value you, Ulquiorra. You always complete my orders perfectly and bring me satisfactory results. Tell me, how did the child perform?"
Ulquiorra suppressed the excitement from Aizen's praise, an unusual emotion for him, yet he found it intriguing. He composed himself and calmly replied, "As you predicted, the child's anger triggered some unusual abilities."
Aizen's eyes gleamed with interest, and he murmured, "Unusual abilities?"
Ulquiorra quickly explained, "During our battle, the child displayed two astonishing abilities. Unfortunately, I cannot recreate the scene for you now."
In his current form, a human body infused with Zetsu's cells, Ulquiorra couldn't use the abilities he possessed as an Arrancar, including recording everything he saw.
Before becoming an Arrancar, Ulquiorra was a Hollow with only the sense of sight, seeking other senses until Aizen transformed him, giving him all five senses. Yet, even with these senses, he couldn't validate his existence due to the void in his chest. This void made him indifferent to the concept of a heart, seeing it as the source of futile human actions.
It wasn't until his defeat that he understood the significance of a heart from a girl. Recognition, validation, expectation, and attachment... Seeing Aizen, who resurrected his darkened form, he realized Aizen was his reason for existence.
These thoughts flashed briefly through Ulquiorra's mind as he continued, "One ability is a powerful repulsive force that pushes everything away. If my body were hit unguarded, it would be torn apart instantly."
He calmly added, "Unfortunately, this ability can't be used repeatedly in a short time, but it seems its power can grow with the child's development."
Aizen glanced at the pits in the hall and murmured, "A repulsive force that pushes everything away..."
"And the other ability?"
Ulquiorra continued, "The other ability absorbs chakra into the body. The child absorbed an attack formed by gathering chakra, akin to a Cero, and apart from some fatigue, seemed unaffected."
Hesitating briefly, Ulquiorra then said, "Lord Aizen, I believe the child's abilities can be further developed."
Aizen's eyes sparkled, and he replied softly, "Of course. The Rinnegan, sharing a lineage with the Sage of Six Paths, must have more potential."
"This is why I couldn't use the Hogyoku to evolve Nagato's eyes. There's only one possible reason..."
Aizen's eyes gleamed as he spoke solemnly, "Some ancient entities must still exist in this world, preventing the Hogyoku from overriding their established rules."
Ulquiorra remained silent, then calmly declared, "If they choose to obstruct you, Lord Aizen, even gods... I will strive to slay them."
Aizen smiled lightly, glancing at the calm Ulquiorra, and chuckled, "That's why I appreciate subordinates like you, Ulquiorra. Rest assured, this time, we will not fail."
As the pale moonlight reflected on the palace floor, casting a faint glow, Aizen sat quietly on a stone chair, his hand supporting his chin, a slight smile on his lips, deep in thought.
"Using the Uchiha clan's power to obtain the Rinnegan... this suggests a connection between the Sharingan and the Rinnegan."
"Sharingan, Mangekyo Sharingan, Rinnegan... What is the connection? Madara, should I deal with you now?"
In the vast and silent palace, only faint whispers echoed.
