As Aizen's whispering voice slowly rose on the battlefield, a wave-like fluctuation gently rippled from the blade of Kyōka Suigetsu. Kakuzu stared intently at Aizen's actions, noticing nothing amiss. In his view, Aizen still stood in his original position, the tip of his sword pointed downward, standing straight before him with a faint smile playing on his lips.
Seeing this, Kakuzu's brow furrowed slightly, thinking to himself, "This guy wouldn't do something meaningless... what exactly is he up to..." His face, hidden behind a thick mask, remained silent, but he was secretly on high alert, guarding against any sudden attacks that might appear from all around.
From his observations before, he could confirm that Aizen's power was extremely formidable, terrifyingly so! This time, he couldn't afford not to give his all; otherwise, he might well be defeated right here.
While Kakuzu was deep in thought, Aizen's magnetic voice came again, "If I make a move, you might die right here. Are you sure you've thought this through?" For some reason, Aizen had already sheathed Kyōka Suigetsu back at his waist. He stood erect in the distance, his eyes playful, looking at Kakuzu and speaking softly.
Hearing this, and observing his actions, Kakuzu felt an intense pressure. An opponent like this... was something he had never encountered before. Such composure and confidence!
Aizen had been controlling the rhythm of this battle from the start, easily crumbling Kakuzu's psychological defenses with just implications. All this inflicted a deep psychological pressure on Kakuzu, dampening his fighting spirit.
Just as Kakuzu was immersed in these anxious thoughts, a magnetic, gentle voice unexpectedly came from right behind him, very close, "What are you anxious about?"
"Or are you afraid of battling me?"
This sudden voice from behind made Kakuzu's back chill. His usually expressionless face showed a flicker of surprise, and his green pupils dilated sharply. He quickly moved forward, then immediately took a highly defensive posture.
At his side, the monsters, centered around his heart, also showed startled expressions, only then becoming aware of Aizen's presence, their black threads flailing wildly.
Aizen, standing straight, seemed unconcerned about Kakuzu's movements, merely chuckling as he watched him dart forward in alarm.
At that moment, Kakuzu stared hard at Aizen, sweat beading on his forehead, rasping, "How could you possibly have reached behind me without my noticing!?"
Hearing this, Aizen's lips curved slightly, he looked up slightly, his eyes gleaming with a hint of amusement, "Unnoticed?"
As Kakuzu stared hard at Aizen's figure, prepared for any sudden attack, the next moment, his pupils shrank in utter shock. In his astonished gaze, Aizen's figure suddenly disappeared from his sight!
On his sweaty back, a hand landed quietly, Aizen's chuckling voice, like a demon's whisper, came again from behind him, "Like this?"
Kakuzu's body stiffened, the pale hand on his back making him dare not make any rash moves. He stood with his back to Aizen, his voice raspy, "Who exactly are you, is this the power of space-time ninjutsu?"
Hearing Kakuzu's question, Aizen's lips curled slightly, and he spoke softly, "It seems that controlled violence really is the best way to bring both parties to a peaceful conversation."
Aizen slowly withdrew his hand, not at all concerned that Kakuzu might escape his control. This left Kakuzu momentarily stunned, his green eyes flickering, but he made no move. Instead, he turned to face Aizen, waiting for his response.
Aizen's eyes twinkled as he spoke softly, "I want to establish a force that will overturn the ninja world. Such a task inevitably makes enemies of the existing Five Great Ninja Villages."
"The decayed ninja system has made this world murky. If we want to establish a beautiful world unlike any before, free from ugliness, we must utilize some auxiliary powers."
"So, I am looking for like-minded allies. What do you think, Kakuzu?"
Hearing Aizen's words, Kakuzu did not immediately agree but frowned deeply, pondering Aizen's words. After a long moment, his voice raspy, he said, "So, you mean to end the era of ninjas and usher in a new era."
Aizen's face bore a slight smile as he nodded slightly. Receiving his response, Kakuzu's face remained expressionless, his voice raspy, "Sorry, I have no interest in such things."
"I don't see the point in spending time on these things. Throughout history, the only trustworthy thing has been money."
"Even if this ugly ninja era ends, what then? Trust between people is like clouds in the sky, dispersed by the slightest wind, utterly worthless."
"Rather than waste time on such futile matters, I would choose to accumulate a vast amount of money, because... people will never oppose money."
Kakuzu spoke in a deep, raspy voice, listening, Aizen still wore that smile, his eyes sparkling slightly, his lips curling up slightly as he spoke softly, "If I say... in the coming new era, people can truly trust each other?"
Hearing Aizen's words, Kakuzu was momentarily startled, then responded hoarsely, "That's impossible."
To this, Aizen chuckled softly, "For me, nothing is impossible. Everything that is deemed impossible is something I am meant to break."
"Nature has been constrained and restricted, not by human fault but by the chains imposed by certain entities."
"And humanity... inevitably inherits this flawed nature, each era perpetuating these decayed systems, thus breeding ugly demeanors and nauseating actions."
Aizen's face suddenly sported a slight smile, glancing at Kakuzu, speaking softly, "You've probably experienced such things too. I can sense the deep resentment in your words."
"It's unfortunate yet also fortunate. Because of this, you have seen what the real world is like, and how corrupt and ugly it is on this earth."
Hearing Aizen's words, Kakuzu was slightly stunned, his green eyes perhaps recalling something.
Once, as a young man, he was filled with infinite admiration for his village, diligently completing every task, even finding great happiness in protecting the villagers through his efforts.
But such a him ultimately couldn't recognize the true reality and ugliness.
When he faced adversity, the villagers' attitudes and the village's judgment against him filled him with immense anger!
The ugliness and hypocrisy of humanity made him unable to trust people anymore, leading him to choose a solitary path, immersing himself in the trust of money alone.
Because... money will never betray you...
Seeing Kakuzu's slight daze, Aizen's lips curled up a bit, his eyes twinkling, as he spoke softly, "It seems you've thought of something."
His words surprised Kakuzu, his expression complex, his voice low, "Even if as you say, what difference will there be for humanity in your so-called new era..."
Perhaps he didn't even know himself; his complex tone carried a slight tremble, a hope that was desperate yet immensely longing.
Perhaps even he wasn't clear about what exactly his heart was longing for deep inside.
Hearing Kakuzu's words, Aizen's eyes flickered slightly, speaking softly, "Do you think the elimination of ugliness is achieved?"
Kakuzu was slightly startled, Aizen gently raised a finger, continuing, "Power, an unprecedented power. I will establish a palace never before seen in the ninja world, with absolute might to thoroughly intimidate."
"The decayed system will be destroyed, a new system and civilization will be spread."
"The era of mutual trust among humans will eventually arrive."
Hearing Aizen's words, Kakuzu's initially gleaming green eyes suddenly dimmed, his voice raspy, "But... it will eventually fade with time, won't it..."
To Kakuzu's words, Aizen's eyes twinkled slightly, murmuring softly, "Fade? No... we... will become eternal..."
Hearing Aizen's words, Kakuzu's body shivered slightly, he looked up incredulously at Aizen.
