Lily joined in, her voice dripping with disdain. "Oh, Avelina, you really are a fool. Did you really think you could leave this room unscathed after trying to stake a claim on what's rightfully ours?"

Avelina closed her eyes, willing herself not to cry. Her pride wouldn't allow it.

Before Avelina could muster a response, Tristan's chilling voice pierced the tension. "Enough!" He stepped between the twins and Avelina, his presence dominating the room. "Remember your place, my darlings. I was the one who called her here, not you. Do not forget that it is I who holds the power. Cross me again, and you will once again find yourselves at my mercy."

The twins stiffened, glancing at each other. Their loyalty to Tristan was evident in the way they held themselves, despite the sharp edge in his voice. However, their disdain for Avelina was palpable, and it was clear they would love nothing more than to see her suffer.
