The light in her bright eyes was sucking the life out of Herriot. However, he had long accepted this outcome. As if answering her sweet smile with a bitter one, Herriot could only pull on his lips. Certainly, if fortune was true, then perhaps there would be another to steal his heart the same way she had.
It's just so sad that she didn't want it.
"Farewell, Marissa." Herriot brought her down, and they had even bowed to each other. The prince was not supposed to bow down to anyone, but this was his very own goddess. Even if she had not saved him from anything and even if she had done atrocious things to him, he still wanted to show her that he was happy to meet her in this life. Perhaps, in the next one, he hoped to find her again.
Whew! We have finished the fourth volume! I have said things in the beginning of this volume, but I'm not sure if I had made a difference. It's so hard to just suddenly change Artie's established personality. I can only play with the people around her—Larkin, I'm looking at you!
