章節 26: 25. I’m popular? (Once again)
(A/N: I don't have a teacher for sciences and history. Thoughts?
The video was Yuki's 'performance in the music room. He didn't have any idea that someone was recording him.
Yuki looked up at Shu for a moment before he continued watching. That was when he noticed something.
He was watching the video from YouTube!
Yuki turned slightly pale as he willed himself to look at the view count.
"Twenty-five thousand!?"
Yuki gave the phone back to Shu as a face devoid of any expression appeared on his face. He retreated to his seat in a daze as he immediately laid on his arms. A groan escaped his lips as a depressing aura escaped his body.
"Come on Yuki. Don't be like that." Raku said as the group approached the table.
"Yeah. It's not like your trending for a bad reason." Shu added on.
Yuki looked at them in annoyance. It wasn't like they would understand.
He had cried. On camera!
"He's so handsome! I wish I could comfort him!"
"I know him. He goes to my school."
"I haven't heard that song before. Is it an original work?"
It took a while for Yuki to realize that it was Ruri reading the comments under that video.
"Can you please stop?" Yuki asked as he reached for the phone.
Ruri quickly dodged as she continued reading the comments. Yuki tried to grab it but missed it again.
The others watched this back and forth go on for a while as different thoughts floated across their minds.
"Alright guys, break it up. People are watching." Shu said.
Yuki and Ruri stopped playing around and watched the video together. Although he didn't want to admit it, he was a bit happy that so many people had taken notice of him.
The class started filling up as they eventually split up.
"Alright, everyone. Settle down. Let's start roll call." Miss Nichihara (Still homeroom teacher) said.
It didn't take long for her to reach Yuki's name on the list.
"Takahashi-kun?"
"Here ma'am." Yuki said in response.
"By the Takahashi-kun, I really liked your video. I didn't know you could sing so well." Miss Nichihara said with a thumbs up.
"Thank you ma'am." Yuki responded in embarrassment. He didn't think one of his teachers would have seen it. It had only been a day!
Yuki heard a bunch of whispers float around in that instant. He knew that people in his school would have seen it, but he didn't think so many people would have seen it.
Miss Nichihara quickly finished the list and left the student in the class.
"I didn't know you could sing so well." Yukana said as she turned to him.
"I'm a man of many talents." Yuki smirked.
"I'm sure crying is one of your many talents too." Yukana took this chance to tease him.
Yuki groaned a little as a blush crept onto his cheeks, "...Can we pretend that didn't happen?"
"Sure, but it's going to cost you."
Yuki was a little surprised, "Cost me? What do you want?"
"Hmm..." Yukana thought for a bit before an idea came to mind, "Oh, I know. Perform another song for me."
"What?"
"You heard me. Perform another song for me."
"Right now?"
"Obviously not. Give me your line. We'll discuss it more later." Yukana said as she pulled out her phone.
Yuki stared at her for a while before a grin appeared on his face.
"What?" Yukana asked as she noticed Yuki's change in expression.
"Nothing, it's just my first time." Yuki said in a somewhat coquettish tone.
"Your first?" It took a while for Yukana to understand before a blush spread on her face, "Don't say it like that!"
Yuki laughed a bit before handing her his phone.
"By the way, did you do the homework? Can I copy it quickly?" Yukana pleaded.
"Homework?" Yuki looked at her in confusion.
"You do know we had homework right?"
"..."
"Right?"
"..." Yuki was speechless. Now that this crossed his mind, he tried to figure out what he was actually up to the previous night. 'I ate out, I went shopping, I exercised. I didn't even look at books..."
"Why didn't you tell me..." Yuki groaned in frustration. He knew he didn't have any time to finish it.
"How could I?" Yukana simply responded.
"..." Yuki remember that he didn't have anyone's number apart from Akemi.
"What do we have now?"
"Japanese."
"I think I could finish it before we go to math. I'll give it to you at lunch." Yuki said after a bit of thought.
"Thanks." Yukana smiled.
"Alright, class. Quiet down. By the way, Takahashi-kun. See me after class." Hiratsuka Shizuka said as she walked in.
