章節 96: Thoughts of a Future

NICK POV

He carefully listens to every word that the General is telling him. He has never heard of this VX gas before but what the General is telling him about it makes him very much afraid. The General carries on about how he wants them to approach the Pentagon and what he wants them to do and then he asks Nick.

"I just have one last question for you?"

"I am listening, General"

"We might be needing you soon, will you be able to go on a mission with your leg?"

"I am feeling fine, sir. I will be ready when you need me to be"

"That is good news, Master Chief. I will get out of your hair now. The Admiral will be briefed on the mission and you will then take orders from him. Is that clear?"

"Yes, General, sir!"

He watches the General stand up to walk out of the room and Nick salutes him while he is still in the bed. As soon as the General leaves his room, he can not help but feel a little bit of unrest settling in his heart.
