I was surprised by its stats, but I didn't think too much about it and put on my game face.
From what I could remember from the original story, dealing with this monster was tricky. It was able to use the needles on its back to parry or divert the original protagonist's attacks.
'Alright. I'm gonna snipe its head from afar,' I made up my mind.
After that, I prepared my Formless Bow and took aim. Next, I waited for the perfect moment to shoot.
Once I got the perfect moment, I released the string of the Formless Bow. The energy arrow flew towards the unaware Needle Roller and punctured its head, hitting its brain.
It died. Just like that.
It was another anticlimactic death, but this much was what you have to expect from an assassin role-player like me.
Anyway, I could not believe that the original protagonist and his pet dog, a young Black Fenrir named Night, had some trouble when facing that monster in the original story…
Or maybe I don't need to mock the original protagonist so much. After all, I was ambushing it like an assassin instead of facing it openly like the original protagonist and his pet dog.
I decided to stop thinking too much about it because I got a message in my field of vision.

I ignored the message and summoned the dropped objects. After that, I appraised the items one by one.

To be honest, I did not need Zenovis' magic circuits, but my new instinct as a hoarder demanded to get it. And even if I did not have use for it, I could give it to someone else, for example, Kaori, Lexia, Mai Kagurazaka, or whoever in my future harem who had an interest in magic.
I was going to use Akashic Search Engine to confirm the location of that magic book but stopped myself.
'I can come back tomorrow. I've been putting off my lunch for too long,' I thought with realization.
After that, I decided to return home and come here again tomorrow. Then, I teleported to Zenovis' House and returned to Earth.

Saying that while clapping my hand, a part of me couldn't help but cringe in embarrassment. In my old life, only a shameless weeb would do it.

After that, I took a spoon and started scooping the stew I cooked for lunch.
Today, the menu in Tenjou Family is venison stew with vegetables from Zenovis' garden. And like before, I had taken two of each type again.
On the other hand, the meat was a dropped item from Crystal Deer.

I moaned loudly as I enjoyed the exquisite taste of my lunch. The combo of special ingredients and the max level Cooking was really something else.
Thankfully, I was alone. Otherwise, I would feel embarrassed so much because of the indecent voice that I unconsciously released.
It could not be helped, though.
The meal was just that good!
Maybe I could visit Food Wars world to have a Cook Off with famous characters there. In fact, I might be able to seduce Erina Nakiri and get her as my personal cook as well as a member in my planned harem.
As I thought that kind of nonsense, I continued eating until I cleaned my bowl. Once I was done, I washed my mouth and throat with Holy Water.

I clapped my hands and gave my after meal ritual as the Japanese culture dictated. Then, I brought my tableware to the sink in the kitchen to be washed.
Once I finished washing and drying the tableware, I went to the living room and dropped my body sloppily on the sofa. Then, I gazed at the room absentmindedly.
"There is no TV, huh? I suppose I have to buy some essential electronics when I have time. Smartphone and laptop too, and registering for internet connection as well, I guess."
Speaking of which, I found that the original protagonist was emancipated by Yuunosuke's last will. To be honest, I was sort of surprised that such a law existed in this version of Japan.
In my old world, Japan did not allow early emancipation like in the United States and some other nations that allowed it. Yet, it existed here.
I, who had taken the original protagonist's body and identity, was an emancipated young adult.
Of course, there were some catches in my emancipation. Although I was considered an adult already, I was still seen as a minor who had to finish his education, at least, until I graduated twelfth grade.
I had to report to the educational department in the city hall. If I neglected my responsibilities as a student, my emancipation would be revoked.
If my emancipation was revoked, I would return to become the ward of the original protagonist's parents. And to tell you the truth, it was something that I did not want because of what happened in the original protagonist's past.
But, enough about that!
Let's focus on something else for the time being.
I recalled my latest level up after finishing off the Needle Roller, so I opened my status to see the changes.

My stats increased by 7,500 points, 6,500 points from level up and 1,000 points from eating the vegetables cultivated in Zenovis' garden.
'So, I haven't reached the next hallmark yet. Is it at Level 500? Or maybe Level 1,000?' I contemplated before I stopped thinking about it
After that, I began assigning my available BP. I assigned 2,500 points for all stats, excluding MAG, which was obvious at this point, and LUC, which got the rest of the BP.
In the end, my LUC became 76,500 points, and my other stats became 30,000 points.
I realized that my growth was more explosive compared to the original protagonist. Nevertheless, there was another thing that piqued my interest.
It looks like I finally got an occupation, which was Assassin. I appraised my new Occupation and got as follows:

Short and simple, but I realized its potential. It also fit my modus operandi as someone who had aversion towards facing monsters head-on.
After that, I closed my status and decided to laze around until dinner came.
Although I seemed lazing around, I also checked the Akashic Records for information about the location of Zenovis' magic book and the various things that caught my interest. It was like browsing the internet, to tell you the truth.
Regarding Zenovis' magic book, I discovered that it and Zenovis' corpse were hidden not far from where I killed the Needle Roller earlier. They were hidden in a cave with a hidden entrance, which I assumed was the same one as in the original story.
Thus, I decided to go there tomorrow to retrieve them.
On top of that, I found out that Kaori and her father had decided to check my background. However, that was not a big deal.
