Lu Weixi slightly lowered her gaze, not bothered to pry any further as she turned to enter the house. Qin Zhigu followed after her, calling out, "Xixi.'' She stopped in her tracks, not turning around, only to throw back the words: "Qin Zhigu, please remember, I am your sister-in-law. You should not address me like this in the future. It's inappropriate."

Qin Zhigu paused briefly as Lu Weixi went inside the house. He stood outside, hearing the servant inside greeting her as "Young Madam," followed by her barely audible response of "mm-hmm." Later, he heard the sound of her ascending the stairs and closing the door.

Complete silence filled the room.
