Midoriya Izuku is a boy with green hair and green eyes, with a stippling of stars across his cheeks and a gold for a heart that desires only to help others.
And despite his quirkless status, despite the bullying, despite everyone telling him that he'll never be a hero, that desire has never wavered.
But, he's a smart kid, he knows that one cannot simply become a hero through dreams alone.
He's quirkless, but that doesn't mean he's incapable. It simply means that he has to try that much harder, that his starting line has been set further back than the rest of his peers.
So, at the age of seven he begs his mother to enroll him at a small dojo, it's a thirty minute walk from their apartment, and only thirteen minutes from his current school.
Inko never mentions how she'll manage the extra bill, but he notices that she's started coming home later on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
And Izuku feels bad that he's making her work even harder than she already is. But, he needs this. He needs to be a hero.
The dojo he joined is just a small and almost declining dojo that taught Karate. And Izuku absorbed the teachings like a sponge.
To thank his mother, Izuku joined some local tournaments to earn money. Of course he lost two of those tournaments before finally winning the rest.
At the age of nine Izuku left the dojo and joined another one that taught Judo, and like Karate, he absorbed everything they taught and only after a few months, he joined another local tournament using only Judo, he lost the first tournament and won the rest.
When Izuku decided to leave the dojo at the age of ten, the master of dojo that taught him, recommended him a dojo where several masters of martial gathers.
Of course, Izuku took the chance and went to join that dojo where he learned several other martial arts like; Krav Maga, Kali, Hapkido, Muay Thai, Akido, Taekwondo, and his personal favorite, Capoeira.
He also learned how to use several weapons such sword, knife, dagger, staff, and the like.
Of course, Izuku once again joined several tournaments, he lost three or four times, but won the rest.
However, after maybe a dozen of wins, Izuku felt like he could no longer improve and his masters recommended him to compete in national level.
The Golden Fist Tournament, a tournament where martial artist all over Japan will compete with another.
There are two leagues in the Golden Fist Tournament. First is the Junior League, where martial artist in ages between 12-17 can join. And second is the Senior League, where martial artist with age 18 and above can join.
There are only a few rules in this tournament. You can't use an attack that can cripple or kill your opponents, you can't use your Quirk and a few others.
Weapons are also permitted but hidden weapons are not.
Izuku joined the Junior League.
And he lost the first time, he lost on his first fight during the semi-finals. And Izuku trained until he drops and readied himself for the tournament next year.
He improved greatly, but he eventually lost in the championships. Of course, Izuku did not let it get him down and trained for the tournament next year.
And finally, at the age of fourteen he won the nationals. He couldn't be more happier as he invited his friends, and his masters to celebrate.
With the money that Izuku won from the tournaments, Inko doesn't need to take too much jobs and with her son's encouragement, pursued her dreams of owning her own restaurant.
She actually drop out of culinary school when she got pregnant and decided to work as a housewife. She was a pretty damn good cook.
And now, after finally taking a breather, she had pursued her dreams she once abandoned years ago. And it paid off! She now currently owned a well-known four star Italian restaurant and they are now rather well off.
Now, at the age of fourteen and last year at middle school, Izuku's life will change.
-----------
"Ok, you are all in third grade now!" The homeroom teacher said in a strict voice as he looked to everyone. "In other words. It is now that you should seriously think of your future!"
Izuku Midoriya sat near the middle of the class and barley paid attention to the teacher, and instead was drawing something on his Hero Analysis Notebook.
Gone was the scraggly and wimpy kid, what he is now is a confident, and strong young man. Standing at 5'8 in height, he is rather muscular but still has a slender build, and his once messy green hair was now cut to an undercut hairstyle.
He was quite handsome, and popular too due to his fame of winning the national martial arts competition this year.
"I will now distribute the Career Aspiration Document!" The teacher smirked before throwing the papers on his desk to the side. "But hey, I'm pretty sure all of you dreamed of becoming a hero, no?"
Izuku glanced around and documented any new quirks he didn't know.
Normally it was against the rules for someone to use their quirk in public, but hey, this was a shitty school who'll do anything to give them fame, even if it means condoning violence and bullying.
And Izuku, being the Quirkless guy that he is, would've been the target of bullying, but he beat up anyone who tried to do him harm.
In fact, he was the not-so-little protecter of students in his middle school where he protects the students who were picked on by others.
"Well, well. Does everyone here have a good quirk?" The teacher asked while looking the class over. "But be aware that the use of it outside the establishment is against the rules."
Suddenly a cocky voice was heard through the class. "Teach, don't put me in the same level as these 'extras'!"
Izuku glanced at his friend Katsuki Bakugo. Over the years, they have some sort of rivalry going on, they pretty much compete over little things and Izuku won the matches 6 out of 10.
Bakugo actually tried to pick on Izuku years ago, but when Izuku fought back and made him eat dust, the blonde kid cried and swore to beat him next time.
That was pretty hilarious now that Izuku thought about it.
The arrogant blond kicked his feet on his desk with a cocky grin on his face. "I really do not intend to make friends with those who are weak, you know?"
That seemed to piss off the entire class. "What do you mean by that Bakugo!?"
"Shut up, you secondary characters! Behave as such!" Bakugo yelled with a shit eating grin on his face.
"Oh yes, indeed, Bakugo. You want to go to... 'UA Highschool', don't you?" The teacher said in a calm voice, the class however, exploded.
It was no shocker that everyone was, well, shocked. UA was the literally the best hero high school in Eastern Part of Japan.
It was known as the National Highschool and some of the biggest hero names came from there.
You needed a score of 79 just to take the entrance exam, and the entrance exam was also cut throat in it's own right.
Izuku also took the exam a month ago and got a 93 on the test. He would've gotten more if not for the fact he was focusing on the tournament, which was two weeks ago.
"I'm not surprised that secondary characters like you are quacking!" Bakugo said as he jumped onto his desk, "I aced the exams, me! I am the only one here that will go to UA!"
Suddenly the teacher had a thoughtful look on his face as he looked through his papers. "Now that I think about it, Midoriya also wishes to enter UA."
The students, especially males, sent him envious looks as they whispered. "What's up with him anyway, thinking he's so great just because he's famous, he doesn't even have a quirk!"
"Tsk, the national tournament probably wasn't that hard if a Quirkless kid like him is a champion."
Bakugo ignored those comments and grinned as he turned towards the green haired teen and pointed his finger at him.
"Ha! Take that Izuku! I got a hundred in the test! I beat you! HAHAHA!" He laughed before walking towards Izuku and slamming his palm on his desk, and grinned at him, "You better get in Izuku, or else we won't get to settle our score and won't know who's the best!"
Izuku smirked, "I'm pretty sure I won our little competition 400 to 70? You didn't even come close."
"IT WAS 386 TO 78 YOU BASTARD! DON'T GO CHANGING OUR SCORE!"
"Your point?"
"Grrrr!" Bakugo gritted his teeth and glared at his friend, "Just you wait! I'm gonna be the first place in the exams! YOU HEAR ME!?"
"Yes, yes, now go back to your seat you dandelion."
"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME YOU PARSLEY!?"
The teacher cleared his throat and slammed his hand on his desk. "Everyone back to their seats, including you Bakugo."
Bakugo shot Izuku an annoyed glared before going back to his seat and Izuku just smiles.
The classes then resumed as usual.
