In the afternoon, the mayor's secretary came with a small shopping bag. The Sloan couple welcomed her happily and based on their expressions, Nikolai could tell what they were thinking already. 

"Nikolai, this lady is very pretty, don't you think so?" Mrs. Sloan commented while praising the beautiful woman in a black suit. 

Nikolai nodded his head in agreement while looking inside the bag. "Ms. Bitor is the mayor's secretary and as a secretary, it's given that she's pretty. After all, she will be meeting a lot of people due to her work." 

"Just call me Brigette," the woman said and smiled faintly while looking at Nikolai. "We've been acquainted for several months now, and we will be communicating from time to time. I think it's better if we don't talk so formally outside of work." 

"I don't mind," Nikolai expressed without changing his expression. "By the way, how's your boyfriend? Is he getting better already?"
