Cael felt the raw mana breaking the enchantments on their group. But that wasn't all. It invaded the artifacts next, and Cael saw with eyes wide with shock as the wedding band on his finger crackled with dangerous sparks.
His own mana pool was invaded, a feeling akin to standing buck naked in a blizzard. Cael fought it away with his own mana, which took effort, but at least, was possible. In his own body, his mana fought back against outside influences reflexively and with much better effectiveness than anywhere else.
He still tried to rebuild the shield, but the storm stopped him from even beginning to weave a spell. The unfinished weave fell apart even easier than a complete one under the onslaught.
The rest of the group held on, too. Niko appeared to be in the worst condition—he grabbed his head with both hands and shut his eyes. A pained grimace was on his face, but from Cael's impression, the mana storm didn't do him more damage than anyone else.
Oh no, is that separation?
Heheh
I just felt
Usual groups are too boring, gotta spice things up~
Somewhere, Dieter is gonna be proud of his plan that worked perfectly as intended and didn't do too much or too little at all, uh-uh.
And Astnar is a giant.
