Zhao Yan glanced cautiously at those counting the gold and lowered her voice.
"Bring in less gold in the future. Even though you've acquired a lot, continuing like this doesn't feel right to me."
"What? Has someone said something?" Zhao Guang asked in surprise.
"No one has said anything, but I can sense that the atmosphere is off. I always feel like the higher-ups have been watching us more closely lately, and I'm worried that this might lead to trouble."
Zhao Guang nodded seriously, "I understand. I'll try to reduce our gold income."
After all, gold is unlike other commodities; there's too much that can be done with it.
Converting these gold into cash won't make much of an impact on the overall market, at least not in a way that would attract attention from above. But once you turn that money into gold, that's a whole different story.
If this keeps increasing, it would be strange if no one came looking for trouble.
