Before curfew even approached, Anastasia had already retreated into the mansion, eager to end the day. Every step she took was cautious, her eyes darting to every corner and shadow. The last thing she wanted was to cross paths with Avery, no matter the reason or circumstance.

After the stories the two surrogates narrated earlier, Anastasia had confirmed Avery was indeed a psychopath—someone whom she needed to stir clear from if she wanted to stay alive till the day she was able to get out of there. 

"Anastasia!" She suddenly heard someone call from behind her. She turned to the voice and it was Eve. 

Eve enveloped her in a hug filled with so much warmth Anastasia nearly melted. Although she despised Samantha with all the living fiber in her body, she was glad Eve was right in front of her. 

"How have you been?" She asked with concern laced in her tone.
