Any new leads on Anastasia's disappearance?' Mr. Wallace asked, his tone sharp as he watched Xavier sip from a porcelain coffee cup. The rich, dark brew had become his go-to weapon against the fatigue weighing down his eyelids.  

Eye bags settled under his lashes as if he'd gotten into a fight with someone. 

"Still none so far," Xavier replied, placing the cup on his desk and typing away. 

They were in Xavier's hideout. It had become his home for the past three months after the search for Anastasia began. 

The old man clicked his tongue, shaking his head slightly as he said, "It's been three months already…."

Xavier's fingers halted on the keyboard, his eyes fixed on his father as he waited for the man to continue. 

"Maybe it's time you…."

"I'd appreciate it if you thought twice before finishing that sentence, Father," Xavier cut in, his gaze locked on his father with a defiance that dared him to continue.
