Muse of Spirits

Alexander, a 20-year-old just returned to his hometown after years of captivity. His kin welcomes him dearly and the world sees him as a poor victim. He joins the Imperial Academy and in everyone's eyes, he's just an untalented country boy. That is until someone more observant catches on... his quick disappearances from sight, the spirits offering him gifts on occasion, and the shivers of those around him when he's in a foul mood.
