The music felt as if it were playing in her head—loud and vibrating. She took another shot of her drink. This was what she needed. After her encounter with Beth and Jack, the last thing she wanted was to go back to Declan's place and pretend like nothing happened. She didn't want to bother Declan with her life.
"Hello, beautiful…" A voice yelled in her ear. The person was close to her ear because she could hear it directly. The music made it hard to hear what the other person was saying. She turned to the stranger who smiled at her. She didn't come to mingle with people; she just needed to be alone. She moved away from the guy, carrying her drinks with her. Moving into the sea of people with a drink wasn't easy. Bodies bumped into her, causing some of her drink to spill on the floor.
A hand stopped her. "Hello, beautiful. I was talking to you." The same stranger stopped her. Mia took a seat at the bar, placing her drink beside it.
