My suspension has finally been lifted. Well finally is a little exaggeration as I haven't been away for too long, but it felt like an eternity.
"For Ethan's return from his 3-day suspension", Lucy raised her glass and said.
Lucy, Nolan, Jackson, and I were currently in a bar. It was a bar that was popular with police officers. They often gathered here to drink.
"For Ethan's return", the other two also said.
We all drank the drink in our glasses and talked about some things with each other.
The talk was mostly about some things I missed while away. There was not too huge a shock though. The biggest one happened today. A lump of cash was stolen right in front of Nolan.
After we all drank a few glasses together we went separate ways again. Everyone went to sleep.
Me included of course.
The next morning I drove towards the police station extra early.
"Good to have you back", this was a sentence I heard quite a few times since coming back.
This was said by some officers, the T.Os, and even the Sergeant and Captain Andersen.
"I hope you haven't lost your excellent form Rookie", this was what my T.O Lopez said to me.
"Of course not", I replied with a smile.
This all happened while everyone went towards the meeting room.
I sat down beside Lucy again.
Nolan and Jackson are at the table beside us.
The meeting was pretty boring. Only one important thing was said.
It was a job in which a company hired the police to help fire a certain employee. It was a job every police officer hated.
Luckily it was Nolan who took it.
After the meeting Officer Lopez and I immediately stepped into the car.
"How was the time when I was away?", I asked her while driving. I wanted to get to know them and put a better atmosphere into the car.
"It was average. Nothing major happened", she replied bluntly.
"I will be honest. I want to get to know you better. Let us play a game. I will ask you one question and then you can ask me one. Everyone needs to answer. Okay?", I looked at her and asked her.
"Well. We can do that. If the questions are too excessive though I will refuse to answer them", Officer Lopez said.
"Okay. Do you have family?", I started with a common question.
"Yes. I have a grandmother, as well as a mother. She raised me and my four brothers as a single mom. My dad rarely showed up. As for the other kind of family. I have never thought about having a relationship yet. I solely concentrate myself on my job and I want to be the best at it", she said ambitiously.
"You're quite the focused and talented woman. You can achieve big things with such a mindset", I praised her.
"What about your family?", she asked her question.
"I have a grandmother. I am her favorite grandson, but I haven't seen her for a long time. I also had a grandpa, but he died a long time ago. About the other pair of grandparents. Nothing was ever told about them to me. My parents were the best until my grandpa died. My father took over his company and my mother assisted him. Due to that, they were never at home. Luckily I had a nice brother and sister who raised me. When they moved away for college I was alone at home. I hated that and just "ran away". I went around everywhere and looked a little around the world. As for the other kind of family. I have had a girlfriend for a few years. Maybe we will marry sometime in the future", I honestly told her most things about me. These weren't secrets and the truth could help develop our relationship.
"From what you said it seems that you came from a wealthy family?", Officer Lopez asked curiously.
"Well. You could consider my family rich", I told her. My family couldn't be investigated by her and knowing that my family was very rich wouldn't help our relationship.
We talked a little about some things in the car. We even shared some laughs. It seems that I was lucky. Officer Lopez and I had good chemistry.
However, we were interrupted by a silent alarm in a restaurant.
When we arrived at the restaurant we heard a woman in there.
"It seems the alarm is real. There is a robbery inside", I whispered to her.
She said some things on the radio.
After a few seconds, the robber came out of the store.
"HANDS UP!", I shouted at her.
I saw her leg wanting to turn around. This was a sign that she wanted to run away. I immediately ran to her.
She started running soon after. Even though she had a small advantage I easily caught her after about 5 meters.
After that, we arrested her and put her back into the car. I put her mask down.
"You are Sue Clifford?!", Officer Lopez said a little surprised.
"You two know each other?", I asked curiously.
"She was a good player in the NCAA. I don't know her personally", Officer Lopez said immediately after not wanting to be suspected of having a relationship with a criminal.
After this arrest, we brought the woman back to the police station and put her into a cell.
This was the only major case today. Though tomorrow would be a huge case.
There will be a Razzia.
Thanks for all the support guys!
