Xael was born in a homey family, eating three meals a day and living like a person who only goes with the flow. In actuality, Xael has always been a girl whose world would consider as a genius, she has the greed to learn anything she deems worthy.
When her attention was caught by a certain thing, undoubtedly she'll get it or she'll learn it. Like a maniac, she'll do everything in her own accord to achieve what she wants but stuff that didn't enter her eye will turn into a non-existent thing.
Let's say her world was divided into two, the interesting and the boring things. That was until she met Zeether, the man who didn't fit into either of the two.
It started back then when Xael's father was obliged to go to a company ceremonial banquet; she was dragged as a punishment of trying to make their house an example of a volcano ready to erupt alarming the neighborhood.
Dressed in a white cocktail gown embroidered with beautiful violet lilacs, Xael left her father's side and went straight to the bar counter. She sat on a stool before she opened her phone and continued her business; learning sign language. She was filled with delight doing as she please not giving a care on the people looking at her.
Next to her, a man whose age was a few years older than her continuously gave her some short glances. He was wearing a coattail suit that enhanced the aura he possesses. A face ready charm anyone at sight. At first, he didn't spare a glance on the girl beside him as he saw the video she was watching; it was a tutorial about sign language for novices.
Sipping his drink, he started to observe the crowd of business people chatting with each other. Looking back again to the girl, he was surprise to see that the level of difficulty the video has compared to the one earlier were miles apart.
It wasn't even a quarter of an hour and she already progress that much? Based on her facial expression, this should be new to her but I can't see any confusion in it. The man wondered to himself. The side of his mouth rose as he decided to test her.
Xael who's busying herself on ignoring probably everyone abruptly stopped looking at her phone and turned her head to the man; to be precise on his hand. It was moving, at first she was weird out by his actions but after a second, she laughed as if she has seen a friend she hasn't meet for years.
Their first conversation started with Zeether's "Are you planning on gouging out your vocal cords? If you do, find me and I'll give you support."
"Thanks. But I have no need for a daddy long leg."
Xael fearlessly responded with her hands back, surprisingly, the man wasn't offended as he even continued their conversation. The night ended with both of them being good acquaintances.
Again that month, another party was conducted by the company, what surprised Xael's parent's the most was that she gave no fight on rejecting her father's idea of going there with him. Wearing a purple flared dress, she walked to the counter slightly excited to see the man again.
Unfortunately, he wasn't there. Her eyes dimmed a little bit as she sat on a stool and fixed her eyes on the phone. She decided to lead her attention on other things; learning Braille Alphabet.
She was so focus that her eyes almost bulged when a paper was suddenly placed above her phone. Taking a closer look she could see series of dots perfectly aligned forming various shapes and types. Understanding what it was, she quickly read it as a challenge. "Are you planning on gouging your eyes this time? If you do, it would be a shame if you're not able to look at me with your pretty eyes anymore."
Xael slowly looked up at the person in front of her and saw a dashing man in a double breasted suit. Seeing it was the same man as the last time, she gave him a smile. She took the paper and wrote back at him. "I never thought you sucked at this. Zeether."
The man laughed quite joyfully like he did the last time they met. Unknown to Xael, everyone was fairly shocked at what they're seeing. The demon was actually smiling! They shouted in their hearts. This meeting moved both of them closer to each other.
In Xael's dictionary, Zeether has always been the exception. Unlike most of the romance, they didn't enter a relationship of being in each other's throats. On the other hand, they get along rather really well. With Zeether, she could feel love, anger, care, jealousy, and other emotions she couldn't feel before.
In just a few years, Xael and Zeether entered the level of being friends or you could say best of friends. Xael has gotten to know everything about Zeether, from likes to dislikes, and even his past relationships up to now. She thought she did except for the fact that Zeether has been hiding his other identity from her.
Zeether was an omnipotent heir of the biggest family in the world, the Zaitsev-Wilczynski Family. He was proficient in everything he does. But just like what the blood in their family has, Zeether was born ruthless and cold bloodied; able to kill without batting an eye.
He would just have continued being a sheep in a wolf's clothing if not for Xael being kidnapped. He personally stormed his way in to rescue Xael, eradicating every man he deems to possess the ability to hurt his woman.
At that exact time, he finally realizes his feelings. Quite delighted, the moment he saw Xael safe and sound, he didn't hesitate to pull her on his embrace. Not uttering a single word, Zeether knelt in front of her while gently grasping both of her hands.
He didn't know where to start, he wanted to tell her how he loves her but he was afraid she will be hurt after learning who he is.
Xael saw how Zeether's shoulder tense up and tremble, they stayed like that for a few seconds before Xael spoke up. "I love you too. No matter whom you are, that won't change."
