Priyanka arrived home at 8:40 PM. Kamala was surprised to see her at that time of the day. She knew that her mother would faint if she dare tell her the truth. 

"Come in, dear," Kamala said after they broke the hug. 

"Thank you mother" Priyanka smiled sadly. Tears fell from her eyes when she entered the house. She looked around and saw Krishna and Zara studying. 

"What happened to you?" Kamala asked. "Why did you come home in the evening? Why is Karan not here?" She started crying too. "Did he divorce you?"

"No, mother" She shook her head. Her mother was doubting Karan and she did not want her to see him as a bad person. It was none of his fault. "His grandmother doesn't like me. She sent me out of..."

"What?" Kamala Interrupted. This had to do with a third party. She wondered where Karan was when the old woman sent her daughter out of the house. "Did he stop her not?"

"He is not in town, mother."
