章節 3: Rivalry
Location: Train station

A huge and heavy humanoid giant monster was bashing on the infrastructures in fury while some 'Pro Heroes' were trying to detain him.
Being a crowded area there were a lot of people nearby so the heroes also had to divide their attention to the civilians' safety.
The heroes also seemed hesitant to make a decisive move since their quirks were not appropriate in such situations. They were just stalling the culprit until a hero with an appropriate quirk arrives.
Eventually, a hero, who seems to be made of wood from head to toe, made his entrance and started to corner the giant.
The people were excited to see him. Why wouldn't they be? He was a rookie hero who was experiencing a surge of popularity due to his unique appearance and quirk. He was.

Among the cheering crowd, Izuku was also there. When Kamui Wood was about to make his final move spurting numerous branches from his bulking right hand, a giant foot knocked the villain aside with a huge force.

The incident was not much of a deal, just a thief trying his last attempt after being cornered by the heroes.
While the stars of the recent show were being interviewed, Izuku was already on his way to school.
'Gigantification and Arbor (Kamui's quirk), huh? Both are amazing quirk. Arbor is applicable in many situations from fighting to rescue… but the fire could be a disadvantage unless the wood is special. Which obviously triggered the rest of the class and started berating him. But he didn't back off and shouted in a mocking tone, "Shut up, you 'extras'! Behave as such!"
While they were going back and forth, the teacher interrupted them. "Oh yes, indeed, Bakugo… you want to go 'U.A. High school', don't you?" There was a brief silence before another outcry broke.
U.A. High school is the department of heroes and is ranked the most popular and the most difficult of all such schools throughout the nation. The symbol of peace, 'All Might' had graduated from the U.A. Many other top Pro Heroes like Endeavor and Best Genist were also graduated from the U.A. Thus, it can be seen why the class was in turmoil.
"… Now that we talk about it, Midoriya is also aiming for U.A…. With that we have two students taking the practical skill exam of U.A. held ten months from now. Ahh… youths. So much enthusiasm. I also… I also dreamed to be a great hero, alas fate had decided something for me and made me a teacher of these amazing kids with amazing quirk. While the teacher's heartfelt feelings continued, the class was again in turmoil.

Among the acceptances and denials, one comment stood out. It was the exploded-haired boy, Bakugo Kaatsuki.

Kaatsuki declared arrogantly. But there was no response, so all the heads turned to the cause of the sudden awkwardness.

Izuku with full concentration was scribbling on his notebook without a care to his classmates' squabbles.
All had wry smiles, while Kaatsuki was pissed. His eyes turned white and dashed straight to Izuku's seat. He forcefully brought his open palm down on Izuku's desk activating his quirk.
*BOOM*
"YOU USELESS NERD!!! LISTEN WHEN I AM TALKING TO YOU!!!"-growled Kaatsuki.
"WHOA!" With a start, Izuku was thrown on his back. Ruffling the back of his head, Izuku asked in confusion. "Ow… huh? ... Kacchan? What happened?" Dusting his clothes off, Izuku stood up only to face a 'scary face' move of Kaatsuki.
"What 'What happened'?! Huh?! How many times do I have to remind you to listen to me while I'm speaking, you 'Deku (useless)' nerd!! And for the last time, don't call me by that name!!!"
"Hahaha… easy there… Kacchan." Izuku persuaded with a nervous smile, trying to calm the TNT which was not very effective.
Kaatsuki in rage picked up Izuku's notebook and it out of the window. But it didn't reach very far before it was pulled back safely in Izuku's hand.
"Kacchan… how many times should I tell you not to touch my notebook," Izuku said in a serious tone. His entire form changed.
"Huh? Now you are serious… So what? Come at me! And become my stepping stone to the stage of the top hero." Kaatsuki equally replied without budging an inch. He was eager to fight it out against his rival since childhood.
