"As if I would listen to you," Jessica thought as she saw his exiting figure.

She waited for a while to ensure that her kidnapper wasn't nearby or standing by the opening. When she was relieved and her heart and mind said in a sync that she should try to escape now, she moved her hands so as to loosen the knot, but it wasn't enough as the effect of poison still didn't wear off, so she took a deep breath as she moved on to her next plan.

She moved her leg slightly so that it was now on an extremely sharp stone that she picked up from the rotten leaf pile. She earlier hid it under her leg, and now she positioned her thigh over its sharp edge.
