'What am I doing?' 

Rio smiled bitterly, as he looked down on the floor. He had no idea what he was doing. As a matter of fact, he had no clue what he was doing with his life all this time. 

Could he even call it a life?

He had always been doing whatever others told him to do. Everything that he had ever done in his life wasn't because he wanted to, but because he had to.

Maybe it was his parents. Maybe it was his friends. Maybe it was his superiors. Maybe it was fear itself.

No matter what the choices were, he didn't choose the one he wanted, but the one he had to.

'Is this my fate? Am I just a pawn to be used?'

Tears began to fall from his eyes, and on that day, Captain Rio Rancho cried his eyes out in the restroom.
