Chapter 080
Level 7 of the Tower of Eraskis was pretty straightforward. And seeing the information about it in front of him, Alex couldn't help but shake his head.
['Level 7' has officially started.]
[The tower has issued a challenge. Defeat your clone in a one to one fight. If you fail to do it, the clone will take your place.]
[If you die in the Tower of Eraskis, you will lose your life in the real world too.]
He looked at the room in front of him. A battlefield was spread out and a mirror was placed in the middle of it. In it, Alex's reflection was shown in the mirror.
But as Alex walked towards the mirror, his reflection showed no movements. He found it strange but at that moment, his reflection suddenly smirked at him.
He stopped in his steps and took out his sword. But his reflection didn't follow his movements.
Suddenly, the mirror started shaking and his reflection stepped out of the mirror and stood in front of Alex.
The costume of the clone took a deeper shade and a crazy smile hung on his lips.
'This is kind of creepy…'
He thought and shook his head.
After fighting a wyvern, he felt like he could go against anything. But going against a clone was still weird enough.
As he was standing there thinking what to do in this situation, his clone suddenly spoke up.
"You are weak. I'm better than you."
His voice was the same as Alex but it had more strength like he was desperate to prove a point. Alex didn't show any emotions with his clone speaking and just frowned.
"You are just a clone. There's no need for me to hear you talk. Let's get this over with."
He said and rushed at his clone.
His sword cut through the air followed by a swishing sound but his clone dodged the strike with smooth movements and jumped in the air, putting distance between them.
'He knows flexibility.'
Alex guessed that his clone has all of his skills and there are probably at the same level too. If not higher.
He wondered if the clone also has its wolf and in just the next second, he found the answer.
A shadow leapt out from his clone's body and jumped at Alex. It was a giant wolf, same as the one he owned.
'Nice. A clone wolf!'
The clone wolf jumped at him, trying to slash his neck with its claws but Alex blocked the attack and threw it off, releasing his own wolf at the same time.
His wolf jumped at it's clone version. Both of them started fighting among themselves and battled to decide who was better among them.
"Let's deal with you now."
Alex muttered and turned towards his clone who had also taken out his own sword.
The clone rushed towards him and Alex followed suit. The sound of swords clashing and lightning crackling resounded throughout the room as both of them went all out against each other.
"You can't compare to me!"
His clone shouted and sent a lightning strike at him which Alex dodged by rolling on the floor. He aimed at the clone's leg but his attack was easily dodged.
'His fighting style is exactly like me. If we keep fighting like this, there won't be a winner. We will just exhaust each other out.'
Alex thought about a way to win against his clone. Thinking of a weak point in his style but nothing came to his mind.
He had never really bothered to think about his weak points and there wasn't very much time for him to think about them now.
"Die!!"
His clone yelled and activated bullet time.
Alex did the same and for the next few minutes, it was hard to follow their movements. Both of them were too fast for the naked eye.
It was like one of those fast paced anime fights.
"You are weak. Give me your place!"
His clone roared as he slashed against his arm. The blade barely touched Alex's arm as he counterattacked with a kick.
"I'm not weak."
"You are! You can't even kill a person!" The clone laughed and as if proving what he had said, tried to plunge his sword into Alex's chest. "But I can."
'That was close.'
Alex thought inwardly as he barely blocked the attack. But before he could do anything else, his clone kicked him in the chest, sending him flying across the floor.
He groaned as his clone slowly walked towards him.
"Like I said, you are weak. That kid… Black Sky died… because you were too weak."
Hearing that, an indescribable expression appeared on Alex's face. He had been struggling with that ever since the events that had transpired on the dock.
Stick's words would often resound in his mind. That he was too soft hearted to kill. That he needed to change it to become better. That killing was just necessary sometimes.
'No, it's not the time to think about this.'
He thought and shook his head. Frowning, he stood up and looked at his clone who was slowly stepping towards him.
"I may be weak." He muttered. "But I'm at least better than you."
Saying that, he rushed towards his clone. His clone smiled like he was expecting this and did the same.
But at that moment, Alex did something strange.
He threw his sword at his clone. With lightning roaring at it's tip, the sword flew through the air. The clone stopped in his tracks and tried to block it but something strange happened.
The sword suddenly changed its trajectory.
"What?"
A surprise yelp came out from the clone's mouth at the unexpected scene in front of him.
In the end, he was not able to block it and the sword struck him in his chest.
Alex smiled seeing this and looked at the item in his hand.
"Mana thread."
It was an item from the hero shop. Although the clone had all his skills, he didn't have the hero shop or the system.
