Matteo’s POV

“Your presence makes me want to puke,” Leila growled in my ears, her voice rising to a menacing crescendo at the end. It was as if her anger thrilled me, sending excited shivers all over my body. For some reason, instead of getting mad, this only made me hold on to her waist tighter.

I had to restrain myself from using force to slam her against the wall and kiss her lips. Her alluring scent was enticing, paving the way for glimpses of tasting every inch of her skin to come to mind.

“Oh, my dear Leila,” I purred seductively, sensing her skin shiver under the mere influence of my voice. It enthralled me so much that it took everything I had not to close off the hall, throwing everyone out to be alone with Leila.

“You are despicable,” she answered. The tenacity of her tone only amused me.

“Agree to my proposal and I will release you this instant.”

“I’m not falling for your tricks, Matteo.”
