In the isolation area of the tower, reserved for alchemy and healing, a young man with piercing blue eyes and raven hair pleaded with the elderly woman before him.

"It's been two weeks," he implored, desperation evident in his voice. "I just want to see my lover, please."

The old lady remained unmoved, her expression stern as she responded, "It's against protocol."

As I lay there, staring up at the sterile ceiling, time felt like a cruel joke. Only a few months had passed outside, but it had been over two long years within the confines of the tower. Our bodies were frozen upon entry, preserving us until we emerged.

I missed Selene more than words could express. Every day without her felt like an eternity. I longed to hold her, to hear her voice, to feel her warmth.

Then, unexpectedly, a priest entered my room. I frowned, not in the mood for divine healing. I preferred the methods of the healers or natural recovery. "I said I don't want divine power healing," I stated firmly, not bothering to move from my spot on the bed. "Go away."

But then, a voice broke through the air, a voice I knew all too well. "I thought you wanted to see me… I guess not," the voice said, teasingly.

In an instant, I was on my feet, my heart pounding in my chest as I rushed towards the familiar sound. There she was, Selene, standing before me. I couldn't believe it. Without a second thought, I pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her as if I never wanted to let go.

I buried my face in her hair, inhaling her sweet scent. I'm not being dramatic, it has been years.

I couldn't resist showering Selene's face with gentle kisses, each one a million little pieces of my love for her. Her laughter filled the room, a beautiful melody that chased away the shadows of our past trials.

"Stop," she giggled, trying to push me away playfully, but I held her close, unwilling to let go.

"Never," I replied with a grin, peppering her forehead, nose, cheeks, and eyelids with more kisses.

Selene's laughter was like music to my ears, a symphony of joy that echoed in my heart. It was a sound I had longed to hear for so long, and now that it was here, I never wanted it to end.

"I love you," I murmured against her hair, my voice filled with sincerity and devotion.

"I love you too," she whispered back, her voice soft and filled with emotion.

As I pulled Selene closer, I couldn't help but revel in the feeling of her in my arms, her body pressed against mine. Her touch sent shivers down my spine, and I relished in the sensation of her fingers trailing lightly over my chest.

"I see someone has been working out," she said with a seductive tone, her eyes glinting mischievously.

"All the more to attract a little pink-eyed beauty," I replied, a smirk playing on my lips as I pulled her even closer.

"It's working," she whispered, her voice filled with desire.

"Is it?" I murmured, my hand moving to cup the back of her neck, drawing her even nearer.

Just as our lips were about to meet in a passionate kiss, a sudden clearing of the throat interrupted our moment. We sprang apart.

It was the old woman, the same one who had been tending to me during my recovery. I shot her a frustrated glance, feeling like a scolded child caught in the act.

Selene quickly excused herself, leaving the room in a hurry. I watched her retreating figure with longing, wishing we could continue our interrupted moment of intimacy.

Turning back to the old woman, I couldn't hide my irritation. "What?" I snapped, my tone sharper than intended as I made my way back to the bed, deliberately turning my back to her.

The old woman raised an eyebrow, unfazed by my petulance. "I just came to check on your progress," she said calmly, ignoring my attitude.

I grumbled under my breath, feeling childish for reacting the way I did. Taking a deep breath, I turned back to face her, forcing myself to be more composed.

"Sorry," I muttered, my tone more contrite this time.
