章節 37: Different

I'm the first to wake up. Lynx is passed out, Micah too, and the day is still dark. The time read six am, but there isn't a wink of sunlight in the air. I don't what could be more depressing. Dante's room feels safe. Or at least it did until the handle started to rattle.

I jumped out of bed, grabbing my shot gun. It isn't wise to open the door but I know that if the rattle continues, I won't be able to rest. I'll get it all in my head and freak out. My fingers are shaky, I'm usually steady with a gun. Even when faced with danger. Today, or last night rather, has been rough on me. 

I should have gotten a smaller gun.

"Open the door, Noelle, I can smell you." I heard a grunt from the other side. My body tenses, breathing becomes a chore.
