I impatiently waited as Axel came to a stop on the road where we left Presley. That night, Malcolm killed all Presley's men to get to us, and then I
discovered Malcolm was my father. It was just one of many eventful nights since. I'd lost count of how many there had been.
I kept tapping my finger on my thigh, my nerves getting the better of me as I tried to figure out how the hell I would locate Presley. We hopped out of the car together, the mid- morning sun warming the earth. Traveling by day was the safer bet… to an extent, at least. While we could avoid the vampires during the day, we still had to watch out for the humans hunting werewolves.
"Do you guys have his scent?" I asked them both. "No," Xavier mumbled back as his nostrils flared. "Too much time has passed," Axel added.
