"D- doctor, how's my grandpa?" Lily asked in a quivering voice.
" Miss Scott I'm afraid to tell you you this but your grandpa's condition had already turned from worse to worst. His old diseases are showing signs of acting up and his organs are deteriorating as a result of waking up from his slumber. I'm afraid he probably only has a week left." the doctor replied.
Marga was in fact a little knowledgeable in the medical field. Since even before the fire happened, she had accompanied Rosco through different places to seek cure for his illnesses. Now that it became more complicated she knew that theres already no chance for Rosco to have a full recovery. But she didn't hesitate and asked "Doctor is there any solution to this?"
"Well there is one. We can forcefully shut his body down, freeze it so that it can be preserved, and wait until medical technology advances in later years. We can treat him again by then. But it's still unknown how many years we have to wait until we can resume his treatment. You can apply for it if you're not against the idea."
Hearing all this Rosco didn't have too much change in his expression and just sighed like someone who already resigned his life to fate. After saying everything that needs to be said, the doctor excused himself from the room.
Lily also left the room running away. When she felt sure that she was far enough, she squatted at the corridor with her back facing the wall and started wailing. Since young fate has always been cruel to her. She felt that her existence itself was against the will of heaven. So she also blamed herself with the tragedy that befell to her grandfather.
After crying for a very long time. Lily stood up and started walking. She walked for several kilometers from the hospital in a daze. She didn't feel tired nor hungry so she continued walking.
Meanwhile at the hospital...
Rosco and Marga were trapped in a heated argument. Truth to be told, this was the first time that the two of them had been in an argument. Whenever there were problems, the two of them would always have the same solution to it like the two of them only shared one mind. But this time it was different.
Marga kept urging Rosco to apply for the treatment that the doctor mentioned, but Rosco kept refusing it saying that he was already old enough and maybe it was what fate wanted so he'll just accept his destiny. After shouting at each other for several an hour, both of them seem to have exhausted their brains so they stopped what they were doing. After a few minutes both of them argued again but they were not shouting anymore.
"How about Lily, she's still so young. I also might not last for a long time. So theres literally no one that would take care of her in this cruel world." Marga said another argument to Rosco.
Then Rosco replied "Being frozen in a glass coffin like some sort of livestock is no better than dying, I might as well die since its what the heaven wants. And do you expect me to take care of her while being frozen? How could I possibly do that?"
With despair in her voice Marga asked "What do we do now?" Marga had seen Lily grow up from an infant into a young lady so her sincerety and concern to her was real.
At that moment an idea suddenly lit up in Rosco's brain he then replied to Marga "Why don't we marry her off?"
