But thinking about not getting any meat made her afraid to try. "I'm on my way now," she said.
"Mm, don't hang up," Yu Jingchen said.
"Ah," she huffed in annoyance.
An Ning walked towards the two o'clock direction, then came to a fork in the road.
Both paths looked good, one paved with cobblestones, the other a grass lawn.
"Come over this way, towards the cobblestones," Yu Jingchen commanded over the phone.
Clutching the phone, An Ning said angrily, "I knew you would never pick an easy path for me."
"Heh..." Yu Jingchen laughed, "Why all these complaints?"
"Don't you know my feet are hurting right now?" An Ning frowned, negotiating. "Can't I get to where you're talking about by walking on the grass? Can I take the lawn path, please?"
"Nonsense," he said.
An Ning stood at the fork in the road, hesitating. "..."
Damn Yu Jingchen, couldn't he give her a clear answer?
Nonsense?
What does that mean? Could she take the lawn path without having to ask at all?
