章節 1: Just Began
"Hey, Lisa, drag that chair here." Pups said. Lisa knew at whatever point the chair was called to be dragged, it implied a long discussion with Pups. Lisa complied the instructions since she had no choice.
"You know how near your entrance exam is." Pups proceeded. "I know you are gifted and you would do way better, but I would need you to do more than you could ever think of." Pups ended. Lisa couldn't do or say anything other than stare blindly. Well,Lisa was lucky. Pups ended. Pups was the name Lisa called her dad.
Pups was an entrepreneur and a mechanical engineer, which defined how busy he was. He had an urgent meeting, which meant he cut off his long conversation. Pups took his keys and set off. Lisa heard Pups' car vroom out. She then sat down, trying to gather her thoughts. "B..B..But.. I am intelligent anyway. There's no need to learn owing to the fact that I am gifted, as Pups said." Lisa questioned herself. Lisa wasted her time on music and didn't learn much but science only. Days turned to weeks, and weeks to months. There were barely three months left.
There was a monthly test in her school where she always ranked first, so she didn't prepare. Something surprising happened that left everyone astounded. This time, a class of 52 students, the highest gross score was 424 whereby Lisa was 5th position and her raw score 342. Lisa was more than a little embarrassed. She bowed her head in shame. Lisa felt her heart racing and didn't know how to explain this incident to Pups. Well, she wasn't the only one concerned about this; her best friend, classmates, teachers, etc. They all look up to her in terms of academics. Now she was going to be the opposite of all that. Heavens knew how Mr. Wilson yelled at Lisa and expressed his disappointment in her. Lisa was born sensitive and grew sensitive, so she let out her feelings by crying it all out. She cared less whether people stared or not. Lisa saw Emily approaching her, and she immediately hugged her. But there was another disaster she never expected from Emily. Emily was profoundly baffled. She ranked first and Lisa fifth, even though Emily didn't do better. Lisa shed more tears and if she were given a bucket, she'd fill it up or make a mighty occean. And then another error, Miss Marigold, the principal of Galaxy British School. Lisa made out the news and knew Pups wouldn't agree.
Pups and Lisa were inseparable. Lisa had stayed with Pups since she was two. Her parents separated when she young, and since then, she had stayed with Pups ever since. This was going to be a difficult one. Lisa didn't tell Pups but, he heard it through the daily mail sent to parents via email. Too bad, Pups agreed. She had never heard Pups producing such decision. "Belli, in my opinion, you would have to stay in the school. That would help." Pups said. "B..b..b.. but, Dad, I don't wanna leave you here all alone." Lisa replied. Pups knew this was a hard task for both. How she gonna cope with life, without Pups?. Lisa wondered.
