Following Aeneas' meeting with Daniil, shockingly little changed. Some questions were thrown about, certainly, but there seemed to be remarkably little stress and concern directed at the event itself. When Bessie brought it up and asked why no one seemed to care as much as she thought they should, Josie was the one to answer with total indifference.
"The thing is, we already knew that Daniil was a bastard that we couldn't trust. There were plenty of signs already that he's been leading his zealots into the grand duchy and trying to spread chaos and cause conflict, so seeing him try to use a different method to get Aeneas involved isn't really that surprising. Hell, he presumably sent assassins after us; it'll take more than him being a conniving bastard to really surprise us."
Bessie nodded along in understanding while everyone else seemed to agree. Avery was likely the one contemplating things the most though and decided to add their own two bits.
Sorry for the delay. I am very very sleepy. Hope you enjoyed the chapter, Avery spotlight, and the intoduction of where things might be heading down the line.
Anyways, I hope you're all taking care and having a wonderful day~
