“You must have forgotten more than you realized!” Lori laughed with disbelief. “This is a four-bedroom house. Ben is in Benny’s old room; Kevin is in mine. You’ll be in yours with your own private bath, just like always.”

“If you’re sure I won’t be a bother,” Cam added.

“I won’t hear of you being anyplace else.” No, she’d brook no objections. It was settled. No debate. Fine. Oh, but was that all right with Cam? Lori suddenly had the sinking feeling that perhaps her sister wanted to do something else, and after all she’d been through, she didn’t need someone telling her what to do and where to go.

“Unless you have other plans.”

Cam didn’t readily answer.

“Please, Cam. Come stay with us for a while, until you’re back on your feet at least. Besides, if you don’t stay with us, Gramma will insist that you stay with her and that’ll be like prison again.”
