"Not these. They drain your mana and stamina with every shot to power up the bolts," Zack explained. "So, the stronger you are, the more effective they will be."

After using relics that consumed mana a bunch of times, Zack was able to understand how they worked. They were like living beings that could only be alive when they sucked the mana of their users, and when they were alive, they would activate their effects.

Thanks to his research, Zack also learned how to emit his mana and had a basic knowledge of how that kind of effect worked. So he was able to copy it… when he used Memory Reading on the relics. It was kind of hard to call that Memory Reading. It was more like seeing the logs of a program.
