Chapter 66: Kneel and Sing "Conquer"
"This Cloud ninja is incredibly strong! Even the Uchiha prodigy couldn't stand up to him!"
"The Inuzuka girl is falling behind too. Looks like her defeat is just a matter of time."
"Are all Cloud Village newcomers this powerful? We can't let Konoha fall behind..."
Whispers spread among the spectators. Although they were well aware of the Cloud forehead protector on Gitai, it didn't stop them from comparing the two groups of children.
From appearances, Gitai might have been bigger than most, but he was undoubtedly close in age to Konoha's graduating students.
---
Boom!
"Who's next?! Is this all Konoha has?!" Gitai roared after sending Tsume Inuzuka and her ninken flying.
Using only taijutsu and kenjutsu, Gitai had defeated both Yoshinari Uchiha and Tsume Inuzuka.
It was evident to those watching that much of his advantage came from the chakra-conducting blade in his hand. When infused with lightning chakra, his blade's destructive capability far surpassed ordinary weapons.
Sitting quietly to the side, Tonari raised an eyebrow. Even his casual demeanor wavered at Gitai's blatant arrogance.
"More arrogant than me? Does this guy want to take my title?"
Next to him, Kushina's patience had clearly worn thin. Her hands clenched into fists as she stood abruptly.
"You've met your match, loudmouth!" she muttered, storming toward the arena.
Tonari reached out, grabbing her sleeve in an attempt to stop her. "Don't. Let him make a fool of himself alone."
But Kushina was never one to back down easily.
As she strode to the center of the field, Tonari sighed dramatically, muttering, "Women..."
---
Gitai smirked as Kushina entered the arena. "What's this? Does Konoha have no boys left? You're sending another girl? Don't think for a second I'll go easy just because you're a girl!"
His cocky tone grated on everyone's nerves, including Tonari's.
"Even more annoying than me," Tonari muttered under his breath, his fingers itching to intervene.
Kushina, unfazed, sneered back, "Big talk from someone relying on a fancy toy. Bring it on, big guy!"
Her hands blurred into a series of seals.
Gitai's smirk deepened. He trusted his speed and raw power to overwhelm any ninjutsu. He had proven it against Yoshinari Uchiha and Tsume Inuzuka.
But as Gitai dashed forward, lightning flickering around his blade, Kushina's eyes flashed with a sharp, mocking glint.
"You're fast, but not fast enough."
Just as Gitai reached her, golden chains erupted from Kushina's body, coiling and sparking.
"Adamantine Sealing Chains!"
The golden chains immobilized Gitai mid-charge, holding him down with unrelenting force.
---
The Cloud ninja's expression twisted in shock. His blade, crackling with lightning, was rendered useless.
"What... what kind of jutsu is this?!" he shouted, struggling fruitlessly against the chains.
Kushina didn't bother to answer. Instead, her petite fist slammed into his chest, sending him crashing into the dirt.
Boom!
A crater formed beneath Gitai as Kushina's punch landed.
On the viewing platform, Tsunade's eyes lit up with interest. There was something familiar about Kushina's sheer physicality.
"More resilient than Tonari, huh?" Kushina mused, flexing her fingers.
But she didn't stop there.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
One punch after another landed as Kushina vented her frustration.
Gitai's once-cocky demeanor shattered as his vision blurred. The audience winced, collectively imagining the pain he must be in.
No one stepped forward to stop her. After all, Gitai's arrogance had ruffled everyone's feathers, and watching Kushina's beatdown felt oddly satisfying.
---
On the Cloud's side, Dodai's previously calm expression grew serious.
"Dicai," he said quietly.
The previously languid Dicai, who had been slouched on the bench, straightened slightly. He sighed, clearly reluctant, but stood nonetheless.
"Understood," Dicai replied, his tone indifferent.
With one step, Dicai stomped on the railing of the Cloud delegation's seating area.
Boom!
The railing disintegrated into blackened ash as Dicai vanished.
---
Hiruzen Sarutobi's sharp gaze tracked Dicai's movement. "The Cloud certainly has talented individuals. That boy just now..."
Dodai smiled, his confidence returning. "You have a keen eye, Lord Third. That's one of our most promising talents."
---
In the arena, Tonari noticed Dicai's sudden appearance.
"Kushina, watch out!" he shouted.
Kushina turned, but it was too late. Dicai's lightning-infused fist struck out with blinding speed.
Instinctively, Kushina raised her arms to block.
As Dicai's punch landed, a surge of dark red chakra erupted from Kushina, blocking the blow entirely.
Dicai's eyes widened in surprise as the strange chakra forced him to retreat.
"What... is that chakra?" Dodai murmured, narrowing his eyes.
Hiruzen's ever-calm expression faltered slightly.
---
Dicai prepared for another attack, but two figures suddenly appeared in front of Kushina.
The shorter figure was Tonari, his hands clasped in a tiger seal, glaring coldly at Dicai.
The taller figure was Minato Namikaze, his golden hair gleaming under the sun.
Minato held a kunai loosely in his hand, his stance relaxed yet ready.
"Cloud ninja," Tonari said, his voice low and dangerous. "Do you enjoy attacking women from behind?"
Minato said nothing, but his quiet determination spoke volumes.
Tonari continued, his tone dripping with mockery. "If you don't want to die, kneel down and sing Conquer for us."
Though Minato would never say such a thing, his forward step made it clear: he supported Tonari's words wholeheartedly.
