Khelan stood in front of the door that led to Larel's room, contemplating whether to enter or not. He paced back and forth, causing the guards and maids behind him to follow his lead.

Finally, Khelan entered the room, but Larel was not inside. He sighed and turned to leave when he saw her standing in front of the door.

He was startled because he wasn't expecting her to be there. Khelan couldn't bring himself to start talking, his eyes darted left and right.

"My King," Larel bowed.

Khelan searched her face for any welcoming smile, but there was none. He cleared his throat and said, "My queen, I guess you were a bit startled with today's event. You see, it's not always like this, and mother and Kit play such extreme games sometimes. You will get used to it," he said, grinning from ear to ear.
