章節 63: Overconfident
Alice's horrified eyes said it all. She was truly confused. "I-Impossible... Pinoy kill you... I saw you die. We saw your backstory for crying out loud!"
Daemon grow a wide, creepy smile on his glowing mouth. "Foolish girl." said Daemon in a creepy and eerie voice. "What you destroyed was only a fragments of me. In fact, you've only seen a fraction of what I could do."
"But Taiyo said... why did I listen to that woman?"
"Taiyo? She was always too lazy to hunt me down. She probably lied to you to get out of the responsibility of having to hunt me herself."
Alice got up as quickly as she could, but this time, something felt different about Daemon. He was much more powerful and intimidating.
"Oh, and don't try that sappy shit that you used to kill my fragments. Such nonsense won't work on me."
Daemon rushed in as Alice. She couldn't even see him move before he landed his blow on her chest, sending a wave of pain through her whole body. She went flying back into the YouTube search bar, and it ended up typing white dress. As she struggled to get back up, she saw multiple videos of white dresses behind her.
"I really am back in this hellscape..."
Daemon kicked her while she was down and sent her into on of the videos. She landed on the progress bar in the video. Daemon chased after her. He transformed his hand into a claw and tried to slash her head of, but she ended up slamming the pause button beneath the video. This froze Daemon in time. This gave Alice second to dodge before the video started to run again.
He collided with the ground at Mach speeds. When he got up, he realized what Alice had done. In response, he slammed the invisible wall twice, rewinding Alice in tike 10 seconds. In the next moment, she appeared right beneath him back to the space where she was 10 seconds before.
Daemon smiled down at her as he was about her crush her head, but then Alice's use her feet to click the progress bar. This made it go back to a point where the woman in the video was twirling. Breaking the 4th wall of the video, the woman's hand smacked Daemon off of Alice. As he stumbled back, Alice delivered a full powered kick to his ribs, sending him out of the browser.
Alice ran away in the opposite direction, entering a search engine. "This place is way more complex than the place where we fought last time. Not only is he stronger, but this place is bigger to. So, is this cyberspace? I got to get out of here and quickly. I can't beat him, I'm not ready yet... Yoshi was right to worry. I was too overconfident."
Suddenly, Daemon crashed down from the sky. Alice fired two null blasts at him, but he warped his goo-like body to make the attacks fly through him. He then reformed himself instantly and rushed over to Alice, palming her face and lifting her off the ground. He slammed her into the solid ground so hard, she bounced off it like a basketball. Daemon then kneed her in the face and sent her flying back into another invisible wall.
Alice watched as she was bleeding out. She panted rapidly as her heart rate accelerated. Her body started shaking as Daemon walked her down, his creepy smile beaming her as he did.
In Alice's head, gold was panicking while Red, still in chains, laughed at her mockingly. "Wow, you look like you could use my help."
"No thank you!... Come on, think, Alice, this... What to do, what to do?"
"This is fitting for a freak like you. You're friends will forget about you in like 5 years anyways. You'll die cold and alone. Deserving for living trash like yourself."
"..."
"You realized it, haven't you? You can't win this fight. That anomaly far outclassed you in every way possible. You need me, just admit it."
"You're right. I can't win this alone. But I'm not alone. My friends are waiting for me. My boyfriend, my rival, my teachers, and my squad mates are all praying for me to win this mission, so I don't have time to fail."
"That's some big talk, but what are you actually gonna do."
"This."
Back in the digital world, Daemon blitzed Alice with a punch to the gut, making her stomach cave in and make her spew blood. However, Daemon's hand started violently convulsing and exploded, making him go flying back. When he landed, he looked at his shoulder, completely void of an arm. His glowing eyes widened with shock.
"How did you do that?"
"Colette really is a far better teacher than Taiyo. Unlike Taiyo, Colette actually teaches me. I'm glad she showed me this, or else I would have died there."
Alice's body was covered in a thin layer of purple aura. The glow softly, yet brightly cringed to her body.
"I get it." said Daemon while regrowing his arm. "That's a Synergeta Shield. Since you are an anubis, even with how powerful I am, I still would die if I made extended contact with it."
"You haven't seen anything yet." Alice wiped the blood from her forehead. "I'm gonna get stronger. I've realized something. This life is no longer just mine. I originally wanted to become Zenith class so I could live. If I didn't attend Skyfall Dance, I would have been executed. But now, I fight for a different reason. I don't just fight to keep myself Alice, I do it for them too!"
Alice's body began to change again. Her tail became long and bushy again and her claws extended. Her ears became more pointed and her teeth became sharper. The diamond marking once again reappeared on her body, but one thing was different about her. Her eyes. While one was red, the other was yellow.
