章節 8: Dungeon
Alvar finished eating his meal and left the Hostess of Fertility. He started walking towards Babel so that he could enter the dungeon.
On his way there he briefly felt something scan his soul, but he kept walking and secretly took a glance at where he felt it came from.
'Knew there would be a god or goddess with that ability.' Alvar thought when he noticed a woman with long silver hair and purple eyes.
'She seems more of an annoyance than a goddess though.' Alvar briefly thought while walking.
He made his way towards the entrance of Babel and handed his Freelancer papers to the Guards and entered the tower.
The ground floor of Babel is a massive open area with a ten meter long hole that leads straight into the dungeon in the center of the room. Within the circular room there are multiple columns at equal intervals and on the ceiling of the room is a beautiful azure painting that resembles the sky. Along the circle are gentle stairs that spiral down into the dungeon.
'Even though it's early there are still a few adventures here.' Alvar thought looking at the people entering the dungeon.
Alvar walked towards the stairs and entered one of them. He started walking down to the first floor of the dungeon.
Alvar was met by a group of goblins when he entered the first floor and he swiftly beheaded them with Muramasa.
'Interesting.' Alvar thought as he saw how the corpses get absorbed by the dungeon only leaving behind their magic stones.
Alvar threw the magic stones into his storage and started walking towards a corner. He made sure no one was watching him and he used his magic and put on a set of armour. He also placed his katana back in his storage and took out two scythe like weapons.

With the ability of the Skull Crown Alvar 'changed' his soul slightly to not get recognized by that woman.
'I don't know if she has the ability to look inside the dungeon.' Alvar thought.
'This should do for now. All I have to do now is look for an area where no one is around and let loose.' Alvar thought.
Alvar travelled around inside the first floor and continued his slaughter. He also found a few humanoid dog monsters called Kobolds.
Alvar found the next floor entrance and went down to the second floor where Dungeon Lizards spawn. They are quadrupedal lizard like monsters that crawl on the walls and usually attack by ambushing adventurers, but he just swiped his Scythes to split them apart.
Alvar travelled down to the fifth floor and finally found an area where no one was.
'This place should do.' Alvar thought as placed his scythes on his back. He used the Skull Crown to weaken his overall strength and magic. He then started gathering his mana towards his fist.
Alvar then focused on his rage and let it all out by punching the floor below him that completely destroyed the area around him.
The monsters that started to come out of the walls were completely destroyed by the mana wave that hit them along with some of the walls around him.
The adventurers on the fifth floor felt it shake a little causing them to become more cautious while some instantly left the floor.
Alvar just stood there in the center of the crater looking around at his handy work.
'Sheesh, I still did quite a bit of damage.' Alvar thought jumping out of the crater.
Alvar interest in the dungeon also increased when he noticed it started to slowly restore the damage he caused, but he let go of the thought when he felt killing intent aimed at him.
'It seems this dungeon also has a guardian.' Alvar thought staring at the huge creature coming out of the wall staring at him.
It's a bipedal creature with two long, thin arms that were bizarrely out of proportion with the body. Its legs, too, were long and thin but bent backwards at the joints. Oddly, the bony, nearly fleshless form was covered in a shell that at first glance looked like a coat of armour. It shimmered with a strange dark-purplish-blue light. From the base of its back extended a hard four-meter-long tail.
Its bumpy head was identical to a goat's skull, except for the crimson light that glowed within the two empty eye sockets. The colour was deeper and far more malicious compared to the other monsters on this floor.
This is the dungeon's security mechanism named the Juggernaut
'Hmm... it seems to be weaker than I expected unless its strength is based on the floor it's summoned on.' Alvar thought while scanning the Juggernaut's capabilities.
When the Juggernaut came out of the wall it instantly charged at Alvar with insane speed while using its left arm to swipe down at Alvar, but the attack was instantly blocked by Alvar's Scythes.
'It seems to be more focused on speed, flexibility and strength than defence.' Alvar thought while using his Scythes to push the Juggernaut's claw out of the way and slashed his scythes in an 'X' shape sending 2 sharp mana blades towards its chest causing it to get pushed back further.
'It seems to have high magic resistance as well.' Alvar thought seeing that his attack didn't do too much damage.
'Quite the interesting creature.' Alvar thought dodging a couple of slashes from the Juggernaut.
Alvar waited for the next claw as he sidestepped letting the claw pass by him, he hooked the two Scythes inside its arm and slashed it downwards slicing a big chunk off of it making the arm practically useless.
Alvar then jumped up dodging its tail that was trying to pierce him and ran towards the Juggernaut.
Alvar jumped up towards the Juggernaut's skull with insane speed and hooked the blades of his scythes in its eye sockets then he pulled them downwards shattering a part of its skull, killing it.
The Juggernaut's body started dissipating while Alvar jumped off of it and looked at it disappearing.
'I am pretty tempted going into the deeper floors and hunting some stronger ones since it's quite fun.' Alvar thought while disabling the Skull Crowns limiters.
'I should probably head back for now and buy a workshop.' Alvar thought walking back towards the floor's entrance.
