Ozu was out of breath once she reached the rest of the team,
"Sorry sensei, my alarm didn't go off for some reason. I had to rush here."
Kannin smiled and replied, "That's alright, Ozu. This isn't anything important really. I'm only supposed to gauge your capacities as a ninja and your readiness for completing missions. Being on time is a small thing all things considered"
The kids all sensed the sarcasm in Kannin's speech and noted the personality they'd be dealing with. While Ozu was making more apologies Kannin interrupted her and said to the three of them,
"First thing we do is introduce each other: our names, age, favorite food, and specialties as a shinobi." His face turned solemn before adding, "I will not accept weak wills here, so you all need to choose a favorite food. It really annoys me when people can't make up their minds about food."
Finishing that, Kannin smirked, as he was getting a nice enough kick out of this.
Araki jumped at the opportunity first and spat out faster than his mind could keep up,
"Hi I'm Shimotsuki Araki and I'm 12 and I really love sushi but sometimes I get in the mood for pho--I specialize in medical jutsu and defensive applications of Earth release!"
Having served his spiel, Araki sat back down and rocked as he sat waiting for everyone else to go.
"Hi," Miura started, "I'm Yukio Miura. I'm 13 years old, my favorite food is rice noodles, and my shinobi specialties are Ninjutsu all around, but Fire and Water release especially. I do some shuriken work too sometimes."
Once he finished, he too sat down with a huff, altogether done with the whole ordeal. As he sat down, Ozu started to get up, and she finally announced
"Hello everyone, I'm Akira Ozu, I'm 12 years old, and I guess I really like mochi. My specializations are in Genjutsu and taijutsu and I have an elemental affinity with Wind release."
Once Ozu finally sat down, Kannin surprised the three by speaking himself, and said
"I'm Uzumaki Kannin, as you should know," he cleared his throat before adding, "I'm 17 years old by now, my favorite food is ramen, though I'll really eat anything. I specialize in Kenjutsu, Fuinjutsu, and Ninjutsu, with a little Taijutsu. I'm proficient in Water, Wind, and Lightning release."
He stood up after saying this, and took a few steps away from the kids before turning back around to say:
"Your first task is to make me move my feet from right here," he dug his heels in as he emphasized the word here. "Use any means necessary. I will not be using my sword just to give you a chance. In fact I'll also be restricting my ninjutsu use to just wind release as well."
Once he completed his thought, the three of them looked at him a little dumbfounded, and Araki asked,
"So you're just going to be using Fuinjutsu for this? Can Fuinjutsu even do anything to help you?"
"Yeah" Miura added, "this seems really easy for us. You can't even use flicker or substitution jutsus to escape us since you'll have moved your feet."
Kannin smiled and said, "You're underestimating the power of Fuinjutsu and of my Wind release. Trust me that I am confident you will fail."
With that, the three genin flickered away to conspire a plan of action.
"We just need to attack him at the same time at different spots, right? He only has two arms." Ozu said, after a brief contemplation
"Well," Miura started, "I imagine he has a 360 degree wind release jutsu for that. The core concept is right--only a coordinated attack will achieve victory--but we need sophistication"
The other two nodded when Miura said this, realizing that in the open field, surrounding him would be way to easy to spot.
"What do you have in mind, then" Araki asked
"Araki," Miura continued, "can you move through the ground with your Earth release? And Ozu, you just need to make a clone and transform yourself into a shuriken."
"I can swim through the dirt," Araki responded, "I'm not super fast though."
"That's alright," Miura said, "I'll distract him for a while. At some point I'll throw your shuriken and once it's all in place we'll launch our attack from the ground, sky, and the front."

Kannin decided not to try and spy on their little meeting. He'd leave the real lessons about mission preparedness for the missions, for now, he just needed to evaluate their teamwork and creativity--as well as their proficiency with their toolkits.
At some point Araki erected a wall of stone around them, and Kannin heard the grass rustle beyond.
'Probably some sort of transformation that they're trying to hide,' He thought to himself 'One or all of them could be fake once the wall drops. I'll need to be on my guard.'
The wall did fall eventually, and the three genin--or what appeared to be the three genin--spread out to attack Kannin. Kannin, for his part, just stood there and let them approach.
Araki leapt at him with a kunai in his hand, which Kannin just smacked away without much effort, which sent the kid tumbling past him. Just then, an impressive ball of fire barreled towards Kannin from where he remembered Miura being.
As the fiery orange sphere hurtled through the air, Kannin swiftly summoned a gust of wind in the opposite direction, which counterintuitively made the fire more intense, but at the same time, exhausted its fuel--that being chakra--much faster. The fireball dissipated in a flash of heat. As the smoke was clearing, Ozu emerged out of the darkness, she too wielded a kunai in her hand, and sent a small wind blade at Kannin from afar before continuing closer.
"Using large Jutsu as cover is smart!" Kannin said with a smile as he rather effortlessly blew Ozu away with another blast of wind, "Even smarter," he continued, "is using a surprise to hide an even larger surprise."
After he said this, Kannin contorted his torso down, as he dodged the sneak attack from behind launched by Miura, before righting himself again and grabbing the kid's right ankle and throwing him across the field. After they got up, covered in grass stains and dirt, Miura started running at Kannin again, this time with much more determination in their eyes.
'Oh,' Kannin thought to himself with some glee, 'this must be the big one.'
Miura began by throwing three shuriken and four kunai at Kannin, which he knocked away with a wind blast, all the while scouring the field for whatever their plan was, before realizing he had knocked the missiles to his left, which left Kannin wondering why there was a kunai directly above him.
'Oh,' Kannin thought, suppressing a smile, 'transformed one above, probably one below too, right? Miura's Ninjutsu would be required to keep me busy, only Araki could go underground, so Ozu is in the air. Not a bad plan.'
When the moment came, Miura shouted "NOW!" as, in a puff of smoke the kunai in the air transformed into Ozu, and the earth erupted beneath Kannin as Araki's head appeared, and Miura themself launched a pressurized blast of water at Kannin.
Miura watched their plan unfold rather perfectly. Kannin was right where they wanted, and yet still felt some trepidation--a worry that was confirmed when Kannin, faster than they could really follow, grabbed Araki as he emerged from the dirt and used him as a human shield against the water blast Miura had sent. The water splashed harshly against the belly of the young kid, and Miura felt a little bad for the friendly fire.
Miura was more confident since Ozu was still in the air, but both Miura and Ozu saw erupting from the billowing cloak on Kannin's back a large red fox leap into the air and bite Ozu on the calf. The two began to tumble in the air before crash-landing on the grass behind Kannin with a thud.
Kannin dropped Araki, who landed at his feet with a small cloud of dust, before exclaiming to his students,
"That's time!" He shouted, smiling, "You did very well, that last attack was well coordinated and executed. Unfortunately you spent 5 minutes planning it in full view of your opponent, and to an experienced shinobi your plan was rather thin. Had you the time and mind to strategize elsewhere you might've actually taken me by surprise."
Kannin dusted himself off while the kids arranged themselves in front of him, expectantly eyeing him and his conclusion
