章節 3: Chapter 3: The Worldo

Charles was sitting in his wheelchair looking at Logan and Henry McCoy who now go by Beast. "I would like your honest opinion of Laurence Zekiel." He said while bringing his elbows on his desk and crossing his left hand with his right hand right in front of his face.
Henry was the first to voice his opinion. "He's quite a young man. Possessing both powerful Mutant abilities as well as a passion for learning which compliments his intellectual mind is quite the unique combination. Though I doubt that is what you want us to talk about. He can be considered a genius in every field he learned and he does not let his impressive power affect his ego. We have seen many young mutants being influenced by their mutant ability by gaining an inflated ego. The mutants at this school were no exception. Fortunately, we were able to see the signs at the beginning and avoid the case of them misusing their powers... Charles, I've known you for many years. I can see that you are worried about him following Erik no Magneto's path and so do I. I too have noticed that although he does not let his powers get to his head, he will not take a hit without hitting back. With the anti-mutant mindset gaining more members, you fear they will act in a way that will make him fight back. I can already imagine what would happen, the fear of mutant would dramatically increase at best and he could join Magneto at worst."
Charles nodded then looked at logan before asking him. " What about you Logan?"
Logan lit a cigar and inhaled and exhale smoke before answering. "From what I see, Bob. He ain't afraid of fighting back which I like about the kid. he has guts and frankly I wish more of the kids here had that. Henry, you say he might follow that floating tin can but you said it yourself he would do that if that anti-mutant prick goes too far. We're not here to raise sheep. We're here to help them control their power and learn how to defend themselves. He's doing what WE taught him. You two might be hopeful for the future but I'm a realist and so is the lottery boy. Charles, guys like Stryker are using your old friend's actions to promote anti-mutant laws or acts. The kid is smart enough to see it without us telling him. I know he won't go killing innocent people, he doesn't have that in him. You two are just over worried because he pranked Ice boy back and scared the guy that stole his car. *Hmph* If it was me, I would have put the guy that stole my motorcycle in a hospital."
Charles closed his eyes. " it is precisely that which worries me. This could be a problem in the future."
Logan scoffed at that after seeing henry nodding to what Charles had said. He told them, "let's be honest here. You're just warry of him since he's the only one, even you, who can't read his mind. I saw your face when you told us about his new super hearing. It's almost the same as the one that fucker Stryker made when he couldn't control his newest test subject. You almost look scared he might have heard something he should not have. Yeah, I know that if he were to go, rogue, we'd have little chance to stop him quickly without that red sunlight thing you two made but I'm not scared of a fight bob so you two should stop trying to find a reason for him to go bad."
Henry realized that Logan was right. Charles was warry of Laurence because he could not access his mind. Laurence never let anyone inside his mind as he said it was a violation of his privacy which nobody disagree with as many agreed. They had noticed that Laurence's electromagnetic field seemed to absorb radiation from the Sun. Charles and Henry were intrigued and decided to test what would happen to the electromagnetic field when it came in contact with different radiation. Nothing happened until they expose to the radiation of a red sun. Laurence seemed a little bit uncomfortable and after a while, he became weaker losing every one of his abilities other than his durability and mental block. Laurence had secretly learned to store the yellow sunlight in his cell in a way to temporary loss access to his strength. The rest he could fake perfectly. It was only possible due to his Kryptonian intellect.

I became popular in the Xavier school as the lottery mutant since I kept getting power at random times. I was also recognized for my intelligence as my Kryptonian intellect helped me fully understand each subject I studied rather quickly. The X-men technology was greatly enhanced with my help.
Things were different because of me. For example, I was dating Jean instead of Scott. Logan was a teacher and his relationship with Jean was more like an uncle-niece relationship than a romantic one. Ororo Munroe, who will be known as Storm, was still a student just like us. Scott did have some feelings for Jean but we were cool as he did not act upon them and respect my relationship with Jean. Since I was also his friend, I tried to mention Jean's name or anything related to us as less as possible.
Over the years, we did some missions, mostly helping out persecuted Mutants or helping during disasters. We did fight Erik a few times after he went on to become known as Magneto. I noticed that we never went full power and neither did they since we were all fighting for the same goal, the future of mutants.
I thought of what I would do as I could not always live off the professor's fortune. I was not going to launch an artificial intelligence company or any of that sort since people like Tony Stark, Shield, or Hydra could use it as a base to learn my encrypting skills. Any tech company could bring unwanted attention. I still had a mission to accomplish and this could be a setback. After a week of over-analyzing it, I decided to create a social media company. It's the was "THE WORLDO". Not having manga in this world let me use any reference I wanted with no one calling me out for it. I launched three apps that were similar to Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram.
Right now the media world was still not connected and I used this to my advantage. When I told the professor about it he was septic at first as this would draw too much attention to us.
"I understand that this would become great inventions but I think it would draw too much attention of the public eye towards us," said Charles while looking at a silent Henry and an absent-minded Logan. I quickly rebuked him. " Professor, we can't always find mutants in need of help on time. If this works we could find them and also make sure that the true story is known instead of a lie the government will say to cover their ass while blaming us in the process. We could also learn when a mutant disappeared if we put more attention to the algorithm."
This got the attention of all three of them. I explained in detail that I would an algorithm to find any weird activity put on these apps and with the help of a few people we could find new mutants before the government or Magneto got to them. the weakness of Charles' Cerebro was that he could only pick up the new mutants' thoughts when they were feeling intense emotions. It usually happened when they awakened their mutant abilities. Sometimes it was after a tragedy they could have avoided, had they come sooner, happened. Charles was now all in on this idea. It could save young mutants from going down the wrong path. For Henry, he was looking at the pros and cons but with this, they could avoid the misinformation about the mutant kind and lessen the fear of the public. Logan was also all in as he could not help but imagine Stryker's face when they would be ahead of him.
