Penelope practically skipped back inside the house, where Percy was regaling their parents with how he took the shady salesman down a peg. There was no need for her to talk about her new car if he was already doing it for her so she headed back to her room. 

Today had been a great day. She sighed in contentment as she flopped backward onto her bed. She had finally arrived as a real adult since she had a salary job and her own car!

All that was left now was moving out but rent was so expensive around here. Wasn't it better to live with family than with a roommate she might not get along with? Especially after the conversation she had with her mom the other day about being welcome to stay as long as she needed. 

Penelope would move out eventually. Living with your parents as an adult wasn't really embarrassing until you hit about twenty-five, right? She still had time.
