A deathly silence loomed over the carriage and Irene frowned, not liking the possibility of Sylvaine being dead. She lowered her head and fidgeted with her fingers.
Sylvaine was Damen's sister and no words of sympathy could bring her back if she was gone forever. Moreover, what the man beside her was not her sympathy but a glimmer of hope he could hold upon and find a way to bring his sister back.
"I will try my best to find a way to return to my world." Irene tried, not knowing what else to say.
Damen smiled at her faintly and Irene tilted her head, not understanding the strange expression on his face. Instead of being melancholic as had expected, the man was oddly calm and composed and she could not perceive why.
