He straightened in his seat. "You're right." he agreed and pulled his cellphone out of his wallet. He dialed Ashley's number and it rings, meanwhile he place the phone on top of the table and turned on the speaker for me to hear. It rings and rings. In the sixth ring she answers.

"Ash, why did you ran? And you didn't even bother to let me finish my sentence. I was going to ask if you could be my partner for the charity dance in school. Can you come back? Please? I need you." Pete says, glumly.

It took a few seconds before Ashley replies. "Okay," she said. Hanging the phone up.

By the time Ashley came back. She sat right next to me.

"Don't ever do that to me again."

Pete sympathetically stared at her as if he wanted to comfort her, but couldn't. Instead he nodded.

She smiles as if nothing happened a minute ago. "So, when's this dance of yours going to be?"

"Next two weeks on Saturday the twenty-eight."
