At the end of school, when everyone was ready to leave their seats. I remember what happened.
Aliya had been glancing at me all day.
In fact, because she glanced at me so often, I even assumed that Aliya liked me. But I guess that wasn't the case.
Every time our gazes met, I felt an intense, sharp feeling from the look in her eyes.
Someone who has eyes like that, looking at me with a different gaze.
"Have I met him and done something wrong?" That's what I was thinking, it's possible that Kuro did something bad to him.
However, Shizuku had another idea, "don't tell me that Aliya has feelings for Tetsuro. Love at first sight," and became wary of the other meaning.
Then there was Yuka who got another idea too, "maybe that girl was attracted to you because of your eccentric appearance," Well I can't blame what other people think.
Therefore, stop thinking about it. As I looked at Shizuku and Yuka with a bitter smile on my face. The homeroom teacher then entered the classroom with a box in her hand.
"I'm sorry everyone, but we have to change the seats now."
The class was divided into two groups, a happy group and an upset group. And of course, I was one of the upset group.
'Why? Why do we have to change seats? I didn't want to be on the front bench. But if I get a seat in the far back corner that's fine.'
"We should have done this yesterday, but since I completely forgot that time. Now that White has moved here, it's a good opportunity to change seats."
The homeroom teacher spoke and placed the box she was holding on the table. Some male students were excited.
"Uwahhhh!!! I can sit next to Aliya-san!!!"
"I can get close to Aliya-san with this opportunity."
Despite hearing them Aliya remained calm and indifferent. She remained seated, completely expressionless.
"Wait a minute!!! Maybe I can also sit next to Shizuku.'
As I thought that, I looked at Shizuku and our eyes met. However, as soon as our eyes met, Shizuku gasped and immediately turned her face forwards, even so I could see her cheeks flushed. It seemed like our thoughts were the same.
"Hey, mate. Looks like we're going our separate ways."
"Why are you saying that? As if you're going to leave this school."
"Ah!! It seems like I'm overreacting. I was thinking that the time we can chat without getting out of our seats will be reduced. The chances of us getting adjacent seats are slim."
"That's for sure."
I'll probably lose a chat buddy that I can talk to for a fellow guy.
"Then each side of the class will start rocks, scissors, paper, and the winner will start drawing."
Obeying the homeroom teacher's words, the students on the front bench played the game, causing the other side to start drawing first.
"They are all really excited about this."
The students stood up in turn to draw numbers from the box until it was finally Shizuku's turn.
I heard her praying to sit next to me before she drew a number, though it didn't really matter since I hadn't even drawn anything yet.
She drew the same number that I sat on before. Seemingly not happy about it yet, Shizuku took her seat and turned to look at me with an expectant look.
So, everything depended on me. When my turn came, with a calm expression I put my hand into the box, made a rustling sound, and took out a paper from inside the box.
"You're sitting in the far back corner of your previous seat. I thought the first seat would suit you better."
"No, thank you," I replied to sensei and headed for my seat.
It was actually unexpected that I would get the backmost seat, especially since it was right behind Shizuku. My luck today is quite high. In my heart, I was very happy to be at the back. However, it seemed like I wasn't the only one who was happy. Shizuku also greeted me with a happy expression.
"We made it, Tetsuro."
"Yeah, you really wanted to sit close to me that badly."
I said while smiling at Shizuku.
As if realising something, Shizuku felt embarrassed and covered her face with her hair tail.
When I was relieved by what happened, the class started to rustle.
"Come on, Aliya's next!"
"Please sit next to me."
"Heh, she's going to sit next to me."
"No, she won't. She will definitely sit next to me."
"Hopefully she'll arrange her seat near me."
'Wow! They are really fussing over the issue of sitting next to Aliya.'
As all the boys prayed in despair, Aliya slowly placed her hand in the box. For some reason the classroom became very quiet and watched as Aliya's hand went into the box.
'What the hell is this? Why is the situation like this?'
I rubbed the back of my neck, looking at this strange situation. I couldn't understand this situation and just followed the atmosphere and remained silent.
"No way."
"Uwaa!! Reality is so cruel."
"Why is this happening?"
"Why did the gods abandon me?"
Every male student who realised that Aliya was not sitting next to them became hopelessly distraught.
"It's a terrible sight. Do they really have to be depressed?"
I was impressed by the overreaction of all of them. When one thought flashed through my head and moved my gaze to the blackboard.
It looked like she was sitting on the bench next to me. Of course, is this coincidence or fate?
Realising Aliya was sitting on the bench next to me, I turned to look at her.
'She's looking at me again.
'seriously did I ever do anything to her in the past?'
I spent the rest of the time contemplating what I had done recently. Until everyone finished getting their seats. They all quickly made their way to their seats.
I tried to light up Aliya casually next to me.
"Nice to meet you."
"........"
Ignoring my greeting, Aliya stares at the blackboard.
It's a bit inconvenient, also I didn't realise it when she sat away from me. As I sat near Aliya, I felt the mysterious aura she exuded.
This might be quite troublesome.
I thought about how troublesome it would be with Aliya in the future, when I saw her out of the corner of my eye.
