Murkato sat in the room that they gave her, endlessly pacing back and forth. She tried her best to appear calm when Savine was in the room, but the moment she was gone, she was like this.
And as the biggest surprise to her, it wasn't because of the threat of Savine taunting the Sovereign to attack her like she did with the nobles.
It was because of what Savine might be doing to her husband and also his children. Out of everything, the fact that Savine baited the entire noble class of Fest to go so overboard just so she can justifiably take revenge on them; and the fact that she was trying to send Murkato to the Sovereign, just so she can orchestrate the same thing all over again but with the entire Sovereignty… the thing Murkato was most worried about was the safety of a family who she thought was completely irrelevant to her.
To the Murkato of two months ago, this thought would seem foolish. Almost alien. Not like Murkato at all.
