Davi was left dazed on her bed. She didn't expect him to show her such a kind gesture. All she felt at that very moment was an overwhelming feeling of warmth. A feeling that made her subconsciously clench her fists tightly. A feeling that was new and unknown to her.
However, right after Sei shut the door, the first thing she did was jump out of her bed and grab her notebook. Her eyes suddenly glittered with excitement. She thought that it was finally working. Finally, he showed her a good development.
At last, he gave her a sign that everything she was doing wasn't futile nor useless. That simple gesture he made was like a magical vitamin pill that boosted her motivation to the highest level.
While scanning her notebook, all she could think of was to move forward right away while the momentum was still rolling in her favor. But to her dismay, steps 5 to 8, were supposed to be executed during and after their date. These weren't suitable to do at this time anymore. But thankfully, step number nine seemed to be a great choice.
'Step #09: Make him some homemade lunch or snacks (Cook for him)'
Davi remembered the wise words Hinari said to her; 'Giving someone handmade gifts or homemade food will instantly make a man feel special and that will be a huge step forward.'
She also remembered an article saying that the way to man's heart is through his stomach. This is surely an effective trap in making a man fall for a woman!
Well, she definitely agreed with the sentiment. Food is one of the greatest temptations no human can resist, right?
She then lifted her arm sanguinely and clenched her fist tight as if she just raised a sword amongst her cavalry, to rally them to war.
Okay! Let's do this!
…
Zaki, now disguised as Mr. Chen, was quietly staring at the cute, little creature asking him for information in a way that made him feel like he was Sei's mother.
What does this girl think of me? Don't I look like a scary, macho bodyguard? When did I become a mother in her eyes?
"Please, tell me, please." The girl pleaded with him, looking like a little child asking her dad to buy her a sweet treat.
Now I'm a dad, haha, this is amazing.
"Eherm! Young miss, why don't you just go ask him directly?" he finally replied.
"I did, but he said 'none'."
"Ohh… I see," Zaki already expected Sei to answer her that way, and he could only facepalm himself in his mind. It was because he knew that Sei was the type who ate solely to survive. He was a freaking stone who will never crave any kind of food. "Young miss, I suggest that you just cook your favorite food instead. Sei, I mean the young master, isn't picky but he's also not very particular about what he eats. That is why he doesn't have a favorite dish. Don't worry, I'm sure he will like whatever you serve him."
"I-is that so?"
David couldn't believe what she heard. She was shocked to know that Sei wasn't fond of food but she could only pout in disappointment. She knew that Sei wasn't a man who was easily pleased to begin with. But she was still surprised because even this majestic pathway to the heart seemed to be powerless against him.
Ahh, this is tough! Is there really nothing that this man likes? Food is supposed to be lethal, right?
Meanwhile, Zaki, standing right across her, looked amused as he watched Davi's ever-changing expressions. She looked like her 120% energy bar suddenly sustained 75% damage upon hearing what he said. And yet, it seemed like the words 'give up' wasn't in her vocabulary at all. Her eyes still burned with fire, telling him that she would still do it no matter what the result.
This girl... Who would still be motivated to continue to battle 'til the end when victory was already in the hands of others?
Zaki could only smile mischievously and root for her.
Good. The perfect woman for that frozen stone should have the will of an immovable rock mountain. Hmm, I wonder who would win? The frozen stone? Or the rock? Dear Zaki, how about we have a bet?
